
Bloomfield, Missouri - Bloomfield Middle School held their annual Athletic Honors Ceremony on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Bloomfield High School gym along with the high school athletes.
Sherilyn Johnson and Che Jones are the middle school volleyball coaches. Students managers are Cheyanne Joiner and Makayla Blevins.Playing on the 8th grade volleyball team are McKenzie Bowen, Kaylee Ellsworth, Hannah Emery, Ashton Bell, Melanie Phillips, Kaylea Hart, Abby Brown, Kylie Phillips, and Emily Hunsaker.
Awards presented were the Wildcat Award, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and the Most Valuable Player of the Year.
The Wildcat Award was presented to Melanie Phillips. "She worked hard every day in practice and you can tell she loves volleyball. This combination of attitude and effort will go a long way for her in the future."
The Defensive Player of the Year Award was presented to Hannah Emery. "Hannah is our libero."
The Offensive Player of the Year Award went to Kaylea Hart. "She improved with her placement of the ball and wasn't afraid to swing, even on some risky 10's."
The Defensive Player of the Year Award was presented to Ashton Bell. "She was well rounded and most importantly she was a smart player. She kept us competitive in a lot of games this year."
