Bloomfield Middle School Cheerleading Awards

Bloomfield, Missouri - Bloomfield Middle School held their annual Athletic Honors Ceremony on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Bloomfield High School gym along with the high school athletes.

Charlotte Phillips is the cheerleading coach.

"This is a very talented group of athletes," commented Phillips.  "During our cheer season almost half of our team was also playing their first year of girls' basketball, so they were extra busy.  They had double practices and made sure both teams were successful."

Representing the 2016-2017 Bloomfield Middle School Cheerleading Squad are Melanie Phillips, Molly Below, Karsynn Phillips, Zoe Lipe, Abigail Conner, Isabelle Tippen, Rosa Hester, McKenzie Bowen, Emilie Hancock, Ashlynn Sills, Ansley Huffman, Mattie Pennington, Alaina Dockins, and Kylie Wheelis.

Four individual awards were presented: Strongest Base, Best Flyer, Jumps, and Tumble, Most Spirit/Strongest Spotter, and the Wildcat Award.

The Strongest Base Award went to Molly Below.  "She made sure every stunt went up and worked hard to protect the flyer if it fell."

The Best Flyer, Jumps and Tumble Award went to Karsynn Phillips.  "She was a main flyer and executed several tough stunts with her bases and had clean jumps and strong tumbling skills."

The Most Spirit/Strongest Spotter Award went to Melanie Phillips.  "She was a strong spotter which is important in keeping the flyer and bases safe.  She worked hard to make sure every stunt went up. She was also full of spirit.  She would yell herself hoarse at almost every game!"

Middle School Cross Country, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Volleyball, and Baseball awards for middle school will spotlighted in separate articles on the ShowMe Times.
