In Memory of David Griggs

David Griggs, 22, of Dexter, formerly of Anniston, died April 22, 2017, in Stoddard County.  Born February 28, 1995, in Sikeston, to Daniel Griggs and Michelle Carter Griggs, Sr., who survive of Anniston, he was employed as a line worker for Tyson Foods.

In addition to his parents, survivors include:  his fiancé, April Farquhar of the home; one son, Cory Kinley of the state of Florida; three daughters, Tia Tidwell and Linda Tidwell, both of Anniston, and Alanna Tidwell of Dexter; one brother, Daniel Griggs Jr. of Anniston;  and one sister, Theresa Smith of Milan, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Shelby Funeral Home, with Bro. Jimmy Griggs of Sikeston, officiating.

Interment will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Evans, Brooks Griggs, Dustin Smith, Rodney Lee, Alvin Pollard and Timmy Carter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Griggs and Daniel Griggs, Jr.

In Memory of Robert Parrish

Robert Parrish, son of the late Homer D. Parrish and Dianie Ritchie Parrish was born on July 14, 1945 in New Madrid County, Missouri and departed this life on March 24, 2017 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 71 years.

Mr. Parrish was a former owner and operator of a Dump Truck in Dexter for many years and a resident of Dexter.

Survivors include four brothers, Jessie Lee Parrish of Attica, Indiana, Herman Parrish of Collin, Texas, Charles Parrish of Dexter, Terry Parrish of West Lafayette, Indiana; by three sisters, Freda Huddleston of Bloomfield, Missouri, Betty Jordan of New Roads, Louisiana and Connie Albert of Linden, Indiana.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Parrish and Larry Parrish; by one sister, Helen Richardson.

Memorial service will be held on April 22, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral home in charge of  all arrangements.

In Memory of Jackie Alberson

Jackie Alberson of Essex, daughter of the late Jack and Ida Mae Goodman Eaton, was born July 11, 1936, in Pochahontas, Arkansas and passed away at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee on April 21, 2017, at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 10 days.

She had lived in Essex all of her life. She had worked as a seamstress at the Paramount Hat Factory and was a member of the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and was very active in her church.

On February 22, 1969, she married Verdene Alberson. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1997.

Surviving are one daughter, Karen Auner of Jackson, Missouri; one son, Tim Lacey of Essex, Missouri; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Dale Jones of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Irene Rose Davis

Irene Rose Davis of Dexter, was born May 18, 1933 in Webster Groves, Missouri and passed away at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter on April 14, 2017, at the age of 83 years 10 months and 27 days.

She had lived in St. Louis before moving to Dexter 24 years ago. She was a home maker and was a member of the Lutheran Church.

On October 9, 1971, she married Bobby Gene Davis in Olivette, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1997.

Surviving are two daughters, Jackie Ann Davis of St. Ann, Missouri and Mary Ann Zanzie of St. Louis, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, after 10:00 a.m. until time for services at 12:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev.  of Dexter officiating.

Private interment will held at the Lake Charles Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Kenneth Jarrell

Kenneth Jarrell of Dexter, son of the late Elijah Monroe and Bessie Bell Hopkins Jarrell, was born in Bloomfield on May 24, 1925, and passed away on April 19, 2017, at his home near Dexter at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 26 days.

Kenneth had lived in the Dexter area all of his life. He had owned and operated the K. M. Jarrell Heating, Air and Electrical in Dexter until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

On April 4, 1970, he married Keitha Davis VanderHeyden. She preceded him in death on June 13, 1991.

Surviving are one son & wife, Terry M. & Robin Jarrell of Phoenix, Arizona; four daughters & spouses, Loretta F. Mitchell of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Nancy Campbell of St. Louis, Diane & Kevin McKinnis of Fair Grove, and Stacy & Jim Schrader of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Ann Ricketts of Walhalla, Michigan and a special niece, Jennette Davis of Dexter. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kiplin Boyd Jarrell, Carl Otto Jarrell, one in infancy and two sisters, Faye Strouts and Frances Carr.

Friends may call on Monday, April 24, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.

Interment will be in the Lick Creek Cemetery near Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
