Wayne Edward Waltrip, son of the late Roy Thomas Waltrip and Edna Mae Griggs Waltrip was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 3, 1935 and departed this life at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 8, 2017 at the age of 82.
 
He had worked at Brown Shoe Company for 25 years, he had also served as Vice-President of Union Steward, He was also one of the orginial board members of Bernie Park.  Mr. Waltrip loved golfing, watching Cardinal Baseball.  He was of Baptist Faith.
 
Mr. Waltrip was united in marriage to Conetha Jean Vance in Elgin, Illinois on March 6, 1964. Mrs. Waltrip preceded her husband in death on March 25, 2005.
 
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Gaye Crosier of Bertrand, Missouri and Connie Marie Frazier of Sikeston, Missouri; by one brother Roy Thomas Waltrip of the State of Texas; by six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death other than by parents and his wife, by two grandsons, Lee Anthony and James Whitehead and one daughter Darla Kaye Whitehead.
 
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral on Wednesday Morning, April 12 2017 from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.

Funeral Services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 12:00 P.M. with Stan Dauck officiating.

Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
