Bloomfield, Missouri - The Bloomfield High School baseball team's season is well underway with two games already played this season. They ended their game at Senath due to weather with a 0-0 score. The Wildcats defeated Charleston 14 - 0 on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
Bloomfield will play in Class 2 District 1 against Bernie, Campbell, Hayti, Holcomb, Senath, and South Pemiscot. Class 2 State Tournament will be held May 22nd - 31st.
There are six seniors this year. They are Joe Clary #4, Alex Gibbs #7, Tim Hector #8, Jacob Hector #9, Jackson McQueen #21, and Kyle Anderson #22.
The only junior on the Bloomfield baseball team is Dalton Phillips #5.
Sophomores are Brandon Siler #2, Tre Jones #12, Ethan Pennington #18, Alden Love #19, Carson Blair #24, and Ethan Stoker #50.

Bloomfield, Missouri -The Bloomfield Junior High 7th and 8th grade baseball team's home opener was dampened by the rainy aftermath and was cancelled. Their first game of the season will be on Thursday, March 30th at Woodland beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Playing on the 7th grade team are Gabe Adkins, Aiden Cowart, Andrew Francis, Lexton Hatchel, Dawson Hill, Jeffrey Jarrell, Will Robison, and Conner Scott.
Playing on the 8th grade team are Lane Bader, Gentry Bracken, Nick Carter, Thomas Chamberlain, Gavin Chasteen, Ryan Dunning, Parker Heaton, James McRoy, Will Thorn, and Bryant Vaughn.

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter middle school Bearcats baseball team will open their season on Thursday, March 23rd against Kennett at home beginning at 4:00 p.m. Home games are played at the baseball field across from Keller Public Library on Grant Street.
The 7th and 8th grade baseball teams will play three tournaments this season; the Dexter Invitational, Clearwater Tournament, and the East Prairie Invitational. The Dexter Invitational will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 and will host East Prairie, New Madrid County Central, and Bloomfield. Clearwater Tournament will be on April 15th and the East Prairie Inviational will be April 22nd.

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Chamber of Commerce, Dexter Parks and Recreation and the Dexter Public Schools held a ribbon cutting for the major improvements made at the baseball field at East City Park on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
Improvements included adding a grass infield, adding a net backstop stretching from dugout to dugout, redoing the backstop with breck facade, enlarging the dugouts to include a short fence, and dugouts are now made of block with locking gates at the entrances. Other improvements were revamping the bullpens and adding concrete pads under the existing bleachers.
On hand were city officials, current Dexter High School Bearcat baseball players, and former Dexter baseball players.

Former DHS Coach A.J. Nugent threw out a ceremonial pitch at the baseball field. Mark Stidham, City Administrator, along with Dexter School Board President Rick Williams addressed the large crowd.
