Earl Goings, son of the late Earl Goings and Ethil Widener Goings was born on October 24, 1935 in Sitka, Arkansas and departed this life on November 27, 2016 at the Southeast Health Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 81 years.
Mr. Goings was a skilled trade mechanic at Arvin Industry’s until his retirement. Earl was a member of the local UAW 1930 where he held the office of State Cap Trusty and Financial Secretary for many years. He was an avid Gardner, volunteered for many occasions and activities at the Dexter Church of Christ where he was also a member, and a resident of Dexter.
On December 13, 1969, he was united in marriage to Helen Warren in Saint Clair County Illinois. Mrs. Goings survivors of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, survivors include one son, Gary Goings of Festus, Missouri; two step-sons, Marvin Smith of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Kenneth Smith of Marble Hill, Missouri; one step-daughter, Janet Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; three brothers, William Leon Goings of Arnold, Missouri, Tommy Goings of Gideon, Missouri and Melvin Goings of Florida; by four sisters, Linda McNew of Senath, Missouri, Kathy Harty of Dudley, Missouri, Sharon Mathis of Nashville, Tennessee, and Betty Johnson of Fisk, Missouri,; also by seventeen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Keith Goings; two daughters, Tanya Goings and Cindy Anderson; and by one brother, Lonnie Goings.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 10:00 until 12:00 Noon on Thursday December 1, 2016.
Funeral services will then be conducted at Noon on Thursday with Pastor Jeremy Tucker and Rev. Jeff Wells officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
Marvin Stevens, son of the late Earl Stevens and Gertrude Jane Phillips Stevens, was born on January 17, 1940 at Dexter and departed this life on November 28, 2016 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 76.
Mr. Stevens served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran, a painter and a resident of Dexter.
He is survived by one nephew, Jody Lee Stevens of Advance and one cousin, Sharon Delene McIntyre of Bloomfield.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Charles Dennis Stevens and one half-sister, Sharon Justice.

Christine Mansfield, daughter of the late Star and Elizabeth Grampp Hart was born on January 5, 1926 in Catron, Missouri and departed this life on November 22, 2016 at the Malden Nursing Center at the age of 90.
On November 27, 1946, she was united in marriage to Neal Ivan Mansfield in Dexter. Mr. Mansfield preceded her in death on March 15, 2013.
Mrs. Mansfield completed High School, which was very uncommon back then, and went on to college getting a degree in nursing. In 1969 she went back to dental college becoming a Dental Assistant in 1970 for Dr. Minton in Dexter for many years where she encountered many new friends. Christine was an avid gardner and loved traveling with Mr. Mansfield. Her friends and family always received quilts, toys, and other gifts from her amazing embroidery and crocheting ability.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Mansfield of Dudley; by one brother, Stan Hart of Fort Collins, Colorado; by one sister, Sue Fulks of Camp Verde, Arizona; by one daughter in law, Judy Mansfield of Wentzville, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Travis Allen Swallows, Lisa Ann Lucy, Jeffrey Neal Swallows, Russell Leroy Mansfield and David Ray Mansfield; and by seven great-grandchildren, Bradley Swallows, Jeffrey Swallows, Ellaina Swallows, Cole Swallows, Madison Mansfield, Doug Mansfield and Ira Mansfield.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Ray Mansfield; by two brothers, Ed Hart and Bill Hart; and by one sister, Marie Roussel.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield at 2:00 P.M.

Glen worked in St. Louis, Mo at Johnson Foil until 1967 when he and his family moved to Bloomfield, Mo. He bought and ran the Bloomfield Drive in for 11 years. During this time, he also owned and operated a shoe store and grocery store. He also served as alderman and mayor of Bloomfield for a period of time. In 1980, he and Mary moved back to St. Louis. He returned to work at Johnson Foil where he would later retire from. After retirement, he spent over 20 years volunteering in different ministries.
At the time of his passing, Glen was a beloved father of two, grandfather of 6, great-grandfather of 7, and great-great grandfather great-uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend of many.
Glen is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Louise Ayers of St. Louis, Mo.; by two daughters, Glenda (Larry) Fortner of Dexter, Mo and Sharon Ayers of Jefferson City, Mo.; by 6 grand children, Chris (Crystal) Fortner of Dexter, Mo., David (Jodi) Fortner of Dexter, Mo., Lisa (James) Childers of Dexter, Mo., John (Evie) Fortner of Dexter, Mo., Cheryl Fortner of Dexter, Mo., and Hannah Fortner of Dexter, Mo.; by 7 great-grand children; by one great-great grandson; by countless other family members and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 4-7 at Kutis Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 7 at Kutis Funeral Home.
Glen will be laid to rest on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:30 at the Bloomfield Cemetery.

On November 24, 2016, Lucille Shipman peacefully went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Dexter, Missouri.
She was born Lucille Wilma Veach in Burlington, Kansas to Henry and Ada Pearl (Anderson) Veach on April 24, 1928. Lucille was united on April 10, 1944 with the love of her life, Omas J. Shipman, who departed this life on July 5, 1996. Together they raised four sons and three daughters, who loved and honored their parents. The family was members of Powe Baptist Church and Lucille later joined with Northside Baptist Church in Bernie, MO.
At the time of her passing, Lucille was the dearly loved Mother to seven children, and Grandmother to twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for the love she showed to everyone who had the pleasure to know her.
Lucille is survived by four sons, Don Shipman and Kathie Cox of Peace Valley, Mo., Steve (Linda) Shipman of Blue Springs, MO, O.J. (Teresa) Shipman Jr. of Blue Springs, MO. Beam, who passed away on January 9, 2008.

Celebration of Lucille Shipman’s Life will be Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie, Mo. with Rev. O. H. Brooks officiating.
She will be laid to rest with her husband, mother and father, and other members of the family in Peace Valley, MO. at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
