
Dexter, Missouri - First United Methodist Church in Dexter will hold a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 16,2016 at 4:00 p.m.
All creatures great and small are welcome! Please have dogs on leashes and other animals safety in your arms or in carriers.
The church is located at 501 South Walnut Street.
There will also be stupid pet tricks and snacks!
Dexter, Missouri - The XI Lambda Psi sorority hosted the annual Stoddard county Pageants on Sunday, October 9, 2016.
First alternate for Little Mister Stoddard County was Archer Menley. He is the 3 year-old son of Mark and Aaron Menley of Dexter.
First alternate for Little Miss Stoddard County was Presley Kay Woods. She is the three year-old daughter of Theron and Lindsay Woods of Dexter.
Second alternate for Little Miss Stoddard County was Alyssa Manes. She is the five year-old daughter of Kevin and Natalie Manes of Bloomfield.
Second alternate Little Mister Stoddard County was Ian LeBeau. He is the 3 year-old son of Kurt and Lindsey LeBeau of Dexter.
2016 Stoddard County King was Brayden Sherfield. He is the four year-old son of Kristen Sherfield and Matt Sherfield of Dexter.
2016 Stoddard County Queen was Tansley Shelton. She is the four year-old daughter of Jason and Melissa Shelton of Bernie.

Dexter, Missouri - On Thursday, October 6th they will host their 1st Thursday. Located at 529 North Walnut Street in Dexter on the first Thursday of each month.
“On behalf of the Regional Healthcare Foundation, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and wonderful donations to this worthy cause,” press release from the Regional Healthcare Foundation.
It’s never to late to donate and they would love to receive gently used and unwanted items. Their re-sale shop is always accepting donations.

Come out and shop their 1st Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Cox Corner in Dexter. Proceeds go to the Mother-to-Mother Program at the Regional Healthcare Foundation.
The Mother To Mother (M2M) is a three-phase mentoring program to support young women who are pregnant or parenting by giving them the resources ad skills they need to become successful parents.
They provide them with CHOICES, OPPORTUNITIES, and ACHIEVEMENTS. The Mother-to-Mother mentoring program works with the young women through their pregnancy and the first year of their child’s life.
They hold regularly scheduled activities where the girls can participate in programs that promote the physical and social growth of both parent and child.
They introduce participants to additional services in the community that can help them make choices that will bring about a better life for tem. After Phase I (pregnancy) and Phase II (baby’s first year) the girls may choose to remain in the program and contract with them to enter Phase III.
In Phase III she may retain all the benefits of the program, if she agrees to continue her education or obtain employment. They believe that education will insure a brighter, more secure future for the young families by reducing the level of poverty.

Dexter, Missouri - The Community Homecoming Tailgate will be held on September 30th from 4:30 p.m. until the start of the Dexter Bearcats vs Kennett Indians Homecoming Football Game at 7:00 p.m. This year's event will be held near the entrance of Charles Bland Stadium.
A "Super-Homecoming" has been planned surrounding the traditional Dexter Bearcat Homecoming that will not only celebrate our current students at DHS, but will provide a true social "Homecoming" event for alumni of the Dexter Public Schools.Schedule of Events:

The ShowMe Times will be there taking photos of each booth and tons of Bearcat fans prior to the coronation of the Homecoming Queen at 6:20 p.m.
Southeast Health is sponsoring a Kids Fun Zone. Children of all ages are encouraged to jump and play in the bounce houses and get their faces painted for the game. There is NO admission fees for the bounce houses.
There will plenty of "freebies" to take home and delicious foods! Please come out and support your BEARCATS at Charles Bland Stadium! The Tailgate will be down at the entrance to the field!

Dexter, Missouri - The Historic Downtown Dexter Association (HDDA) will sponsor the Downtown Dexter Fall Fest on Saturday, October 8th from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Craft booths will be set up for you to view and food booths for you to indulge. There will be a Pumpkin Decorating Contest.
Deadline for booth spaces is Wednesday, September 28th. Cost is $25 without electricity and $40 with electricity. Commercial vendors is $50.
Evans Pottery Display will be at the Train Depot.
Live Music will be located at the corner of Stoddard & Walnut Street beginning at 9:30 a.m. with Iron Mountain Station followed by Maggie Thorn at 10:40 a.m. Roxie the dog pianist and artist will perform dog tricks on the main stage at 12:30 p.m. Straight Shot will perform at 1:30 p.m.
Fall Fest Pageant winners will be introduced at 12:15 p.m.
The 7th Annual Pie Eating Contest sponsored by Young Real Estate LLC will be held in front of The Bunny Patch at HIGH NOON! There are three divisions including children, men, and women. Winners of the men's and women's divisions designate a local charity of choice as the recipient of their winnings. First place winners earn $250. Second place winners earn $150 and 3rd place winners earn $50. Children earn cash prizes to keep.
Trickster Dog Shows will be at K9 Biz located at the corner of S. Locust and Stoddard Streets. The dog show will feature dog tricks and will be ongoing throughout the festival.
Run 4 Vaughn will race through downtown to the First Christian Church. Registration is at 9:00 a.m. with a starting time of 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church at 224 East Stoddard Street. Lunch will be served on the ground upon the return of the runners and walkers.
The Stoddard County Nutrition Center will hold their annual Quilt Exhibit during the festival.
