2nd Place Commercial - 2016 Stoddard County Fair Parade

Dexter, Missouri - The annual Stoddard County Fair Paraded last just a little over one hour in downtown Dexter Tuesday evening.

Monsanto Farm Safety won 2nd Place in the Commercial Float Competition.  They will receive a prize of $100.

Monsanto Farm Safety is located at 1206 Oakcrest in Dexter.

1st Place Commercial Float - 2016 Stoddard County Fair Parade

Central Gardens won 1st Place in the Commercial Float Competition.  They will receive a prize of $150.

Central Gardens is located at 302 North Elm.

Industrial Appreciation Golf Scramble Winners

Dexter, Missouri - The Chamber of Commerce held their annual Industrial Appreciation 4-Person Golf Scramble on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.

Sixteen teams competed for the top three spots.

First place went to the Crowley Ridge Care Center Team - Jerry Collier, Matt Thurmon, Chad Wooldridge and Eric Parris. (Shown above)

Second place winners were the Rainey-Mathis Team - Kenny Pope, Kyle Christian, Logan Robey, and Cory Mills.

Third place went to First Midwest Bank #1 Team - Chris Guethle, TJ Robey, Preston Clark, and Matt Ternes.

4th Place Winners - Allen Christian Buick GMC - Terry Christian, Bruce Christian, Mark Nea, Bobby Jibben

5th Place Winners - Saint Francis - Herman Louw, Doug Gannon, Doug Friese, and Sandy Duncan

6th Place Winners - First Midwest Bank #2 - Jack Huffman, Dale Stites, Dean Bennett, and  Stan Sparks

7th Place Winners - Demerre-Mitchell - Kevin Mitchell, Scott Chesser, Scott Nelson, and Dave Ellinghouse

Scott Nelson won 1st Place and Herman Louw earned 2nd place as the winners of the Marshmallow Golf sponsored by American National Insurance.

BIG Truck Night is TONIGHT!

Dexter, Missouri -  Tonight is the night! Parents As Teachers is having their BIG TRUCK NIGHT at Southwest Elementary this evening from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.  Parking is available at the Bearcat Event Center!

Kids will be able to come and see these BIG machines and talk to the people who operate them.  You might see a fire truck, electric bucket truck, a semi-truck, an ambulance, backhoe, snack delivery truck or even a tractor or delivery truck.  What a great experience and fun learning opportunity this is for the little ones.

A big thanks to several businesses who are dedicating their time and a TRUCK or a VEHICLE to show the youngsters how much fun it is to work at these awesome businesses.  Oh hand will be the Dexter Fire Department, Ozark Border Electric Coop, Stoddard County Ambulance, Pepsi, AmerenUE, City of Dexter, Transit Service, Air Evac, the Head Start School Bus and much much more!

Many of the volunteers will have goodies for the kids and PAT will have the famous  I Spy Game to help with language development and popsicles!!

You can also enroll your family to be a member of Parents As Teachers organization.  They are a wonderful group of people and a great asset to our community!

Annual Chili and Stew Dinner at Stoddard County Nutrition Center

Dexter, Missouri - The Stoddard County Nutrition Center (Dexter Senior Center) will have their annual Chili and Stew Supper on Tuesday, September 20th from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. during the Stoddard County Fair Parade.

It's all you can eat and they will be serving cornbread, homemade desserts and a drink.  The cost is $4.50 per adult and children 10 years and younger are $2.50 each.

The Nutrition Center is located at 23 West Stoddard Street in downtown Dexter.

Come eat before the parade or take a break and eat some delicious chili or stew!
