Bearcat CODE Red Contest!

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Chamber of Commerce wants to see your BEARCAT pride on September 30th for the Homecoming Game Day!

The Dexter Chamber encourages every business to show your school spirit by decorating windows, your lawn, or the outside of your business.  You can even have a large number of employees participate by wearing their spirited outfits and do a little cheer!

Judging on two different categories: Commercial Business or Small Business.

Judging will be done by NOON on September 30th.  "We will let you know when the judges will be by your business" stated Hillary Starnes, Dexter Chamber of Commerce Executive Director,  "just in case you have a cheer or special affects for the judges.

Winners will be announced at the tailgate and will receive a traveling trophy and a free prime tailgating spot at next year's homecoming event!

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Chamber of Commerce kicked-off the 31st Annual Industrial Appreciation Week with a proclamation signing by Dexter Mayor Joe Weber.

The proclamation stated:

Whereas, it is important to the progress of the City of Dexter, Missouri, that we strive for job retention and capital creation from existing industries; and

Whereas, our existing industries are part of our community and have citizen support and willingness to assist them as needed; and

Whereas, the intense interest shown to our existing industries is an effort to reward them for their continued presence and support,

Now, Therefore, the Board of Alderman of the City of Dexter, Missouri, does hereby proclaim September 12, 2016 through September 19, 2016, as

INDUSTRIAL APPRECIATION WEEK

in the City of Dexter, Missouri, and urge all individuals, businesses, and civic and other organizations to give this observance their fullest cooperation and support.

Community Homecoming Tailgate Deadline Fast Approaching

Dexter, Missouri - The Community Homecoming Tailgate will be held on September 30th from 4:30 p.m. until the start of the Dexter Bearcats vs Kennett Indians Homecoming Football Game at 7:00 p.m.  This year's event will be held near the entrance of Charles Bland Stadium.

A "Super-Homecoming" has been planned surrounding the traditional Dexter Bearcat Homecoming that will not only celebrate our current students at DHS, but will provide a true social "Homecoming" event for alumni of the Dexter Public Schools.

WHY HAVE A SUPER HOMECOMING?  The goal is to create an event that will increase community pride and school spirit on an even larger scale.  To create a wholesome social event that broadens the fun and excitement of Homecoming and to encourage alumni to return to our community and enjoy all that Dexter has to offer!

Several business have already signed up to TAILGATE with plenty of FREE Bearcat "stuff" along with food and games!  Win some prizes or buy a souvenir from the Bearcat Booster Club!  You will have the time of your life.  Perfect for class reunions and churches to show your support and have fun.  Countywide Insurance, SoutheastHEALTH of Stoddard County, Key Drugs, Class of 1981, Regional Healthcare Foundation, Preferred Hospice, Young Real Estate LLC, Brannan Insurance, Bank of Advance, and First Commercial Bank so far have signed up with tailgate spots!

The ShowMe Times will be there taking photos of each booth and tons of Bearcat fans prior to the coronation of the Homecoming Queen at 6:30 p.m.

Southeast Health is sponsoring a Kids Fun Zone.  Children of all ages are encouraged to jump and play in the bounce houses and get their faces painted for the game.  There is NO admission fees for the bounce houses.

Get your tailgate spot TODAY!  Deadline is September 14th.  Cost for two booth spots is $75.00.  Four parking spot booths is $125.00 An additional $25 charge will be added after the deadline date.  Make checks payable to Dexter Bearcat Community Tailgate.

Paul Martin Presented with House Resolution

Bloomfield, Missouri - Paul Martin was presented with a House Resolution for recognition he received as an employee of the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.

State Representative Tila Hubrecht presented the resolution.  Martin was named Employee of the Month in June by the Missouri Veteran's Commission, Employee of the Month for the Veteran's Cemetery Service Office in May and Employee of the Month by the Department of Public Safety in August.

Martin assisted a man in the cemetery after the man collapsed while visiting the grave of his wife on the anniversary of her death.  Paul is a hero and saved the man's life assisting him.
