Students Earn Positive Office Referrals

Dexter, Missouri - Southwest Elementary honors Melanie Pfeffer, Baron Greer, Ava Schaefer, and Carter Stone with the Positive Office Referral certificate.

This award is presented to students who consistently show the 3R's RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN at Southwest Elementary in Dexter.

Melanie Pfeffer is in the first grade classroom of Mrs. Ridings.  "Melanie always goes above and beyond what is expected!  She also helps anyone in need."

Baron Greer is also in the first grade classroom of Mr.s Ridings. "Baron is always reliable in every situation!  i am very proud of him!"

Ava Schaefer is in the second grade and was referred by Mr. Eldreth.  "Ava always shows the 3Rs and was a great leader for the the play.  She is always willing to help others."

Carter Stone is in the second grade and was referred by Mr. Eldreth.  "Carter always shows the 3Rs and has proven to be a great leader and positive influence for his peers."

Dexter Public Schools - Special Board Meeting Minutes

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Public School Board held a Special Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.  Below are the minutes from the recent meeting.

Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge The Board President began the meeting,  ascertained the attendance status of all Board members, and led in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance. Board member Herman Morse was absent.  


Public Comments

None at this time.

In Executive Session
        
The board approved the hiring of Amanda Cooper for Central Elementary teacher for the 2016-17 school year.

The board accepted a letter of resignation from Central Elementary Special Education teacher Shelly Culp effective immediately.

Tyler Heil Receives Lion's Club Scholarship

Dexter, Missouri -The Dexter Lions Club presented Tyler Heil with a $1,500 scholarship recently.

Tyler is the son of Dan and Connie Heil.

He has played football his freshman and sophomore years, Cross Country his junior year, Baseball and Basketball all four years of high school.

Tyler is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of America, and Student Council.

His future plans are to attend Missouri State University and Study Ag Business.


The Dexter Lions Club raises money annually with their Golf Tournament (slated for July 15, 2017), a Waffle Day and they sell Funnel Cakes at the Stoddard County Fair in September.

Mary Kate Miller Receives Lion's Club Scholarship

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Lions Club presented Mary Kate Miller with a $1,500 scholarship recently.

Mary Kate is the daughter of Mike and Candy Miller.

She is active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is a member of the Dexter Honor Society, Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Teachers of America, Rotary Interact.  She also attended Missouri Girl’s State during the summer.

After graduation, Mary Kate plans to attend college and obtain a degree in nursing.  She then plans to pursue a degree in Advanced Practice Nursing.

Kendall Adams Receives Lion's Club Scholarship

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Lions Club presented Kendall Adams with a $1,000 scholarship recently.

Kendall is the daughter of Travis and Dana Adams.

She has played volleyball all four years of her high school career. She is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, FCCLA, Future Teachers of American Student Council, Dexter Honor Society, Top 10% of her class, and represented Dexter High School at Missouri Girls State.
She was also honored as an Academic All-State Volleyball Team member.

Her future plans are to attend the University of Mississippi.
