Vicki R. King, daughter of Bettie Cooper Thurston of Bernie, Missouri, was born on May 23, 1963 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on March 4, 2016 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas at the age of 52.

Mrs. King was of the Church of Christ faith.  She had worked as a superintendent in commercial construction and was a resident of Sherman, Texas.

On November 11, 1987, she was united in marriage to Mark Dwayne King in Idalia, Missouri.  Mr. King survives of the home.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by one son, Michael Tollison of Commerce, Texas; by two grandchildren; and by two step-brothers, Mark Thurston of Bernie, Missouri and Wade Thurston of Memphis, Tennessee.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with Michael Tollison officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

Olen Bo Roper

Olen "Bo" Roper, son of the late, Sylvia W. and Edna Prichett Roper, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on August 4, 1937,  and passed away at Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on March 6, 2016, at the age of 78 years 7 months, and 2 days.

Olen had lived most of his life in Stoddard County except for the 10 years he lived in Michigan.  He attended Bible Tabernacle in Bloomfield and he owned and operated Roper's Plumbing.

On, June 18, 1989, he was married to Bonnie Hankins in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Roper of Bloomfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Tonya Roper of Dexter, Missouri, one daughter and son-in-law, Catrina and Terry Dawson of Dexter, one stepdaughter and husband, Lisa and Bobby Bemister of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin, Hershel, Bonnie, and W.H. Roper and one sister, Laura Bell Christian.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield, Missouri with Buddy Heaton of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Sharon Tucker Obituary

Sharon Tucker, daughter of the late Billy Gene Bollinger and Barbara Sue Redman Davis was born on October 28, 1951 in Dexter and departed this life on March 5, 2016 at her residence in Dexter at the age of 64.

Mrs. Tucker was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for VNA in Dexter.  She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter.  Her family will remember her as the best mother and wife a child and husband could have.

On February 14, 1976 she was united in marriage to Jimmy F. Tucker in Wardell, Missouri.  Mr. Tucker survives of their home in Dexter.

She is survived by one son, Kevin Scott Davis Tucker and wife Kathy Jo Davis of Dexter; by two daughters, Amber Davis of Dexter and Rebecca M. Boone and husband Shawn of Paragould, Arkansas; by three brothers, Mike Bollinger and Terry Bollinger both of Dexter and Billy Ray Bollinger of Tilman, Missouri; by two sisters, Robin Lynn Eakin of Tilman, Missouri and Beverly Scherer of Benton, Missouri and by six grandchildren, Terry Lee Davis, Darian Lance Davis, Dylan Tucker Davis, Riley Sage Davis, Madesyn Boone and Brett Matthew Boone.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Karen Watkins.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Doug West officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Sadler Chapel Cemetery.

Gary Dean Leathers, son of Joyce Leathers of Dexter and the late Billy Gene Leathers, was born on March 23, 1955 in Dexter and departed this life on March 3, 2016 at his mother’s residence in Dexter at the age of 60.

Mr. Leathers worked as a truck driver for Woody’s Trucking and was a resident of Dexter.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Gary Lee Leathers of Dexter; by three sisters, Sherry Bolin of Dexter, Missouri, Mary Simpson of Osage Beach, Missouri and Terry Ginn of Osage Beach, Missouri; and by one grandson, Aaron Leathers.

Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Marion Bud Meyers Obituary

Marion “Bud” Myers, son of the late Richard Myers and Ruby Burke Myers, was born on February 27, 1938 in Dexter and departed this life on March 3, 2016 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 78.

Mr. Myers was a member of the Mt. Gilead “Hill” General Baptist Church in Dexter.  He had worked as a transport driver for Bootheel Petroleum in Dexter for forty years.

On June 15, 1964, he was united in marriage to Linda L. Newton in Dexter.  Mrs. Myers survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Charles Leroy Myers and wife Barbara and James Dale Myers, both of Dexter; by three sisters, Dora Ann May of Dexter, Ruth Morgan of Dexter and Carolyn Sue Davis of Bloomfield; and by his sister-in-law, Carol Myers of Dexter.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John R. Myers.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.  

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rick Roberts and Rev. Steve Tippen officiating.  

The family requests that memorials be made to Southeast Hospice, #10 Doctors' Park, Cape Girardeau, Missouri 63703 or to the charity of choice.
