Margaret Lee Wagner

Margaret Lee Wagner, daughter of the late Edgar DeArman and Alcy May Pruitt DeArman, was born on January 6, 1923 in Powe, Missouri and departed this life on February 14, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 93.

Mrs. Wagner was a member of Brown General Baptist Church in Puxico.  She had worked as a presser at Elder’s Manufacturing in Dexter and she and her husband had owned Wagner Grocery in Acorn Ridge, Missouri.

She enjoyed quilting at Brown General Baptist Church, spending time with her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Autumn, Pearce and Riley, and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
 
On August 9, 1957, she was united in marriage to Herman Leon Wagner in Dexter, Missouri.  Mr. Wagner preceded her in death on February 6, 1980.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Wagner and wife Patty of Puxico, Missouri; by one daughter, Cindy Slaughter and husband Pete of Puxico, Missouri; by two sisters, Mary Wagner of LaGrange, Georgia and Doris Grim of Van Buren, Missouri; by five grandchildren, Justin Wagner, Nickolas Wagner, Adam Wagner, David Scott and Wyatt Wagner; by eleven great-grandchildren; by five step-grandchildren, Wayne Wagner, Gary Wagner, Kevin Wagner, Danny Buchanan and Berry Buchanan; and by ten step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl DeArman and Harold William DeArman; and by two sisters, Maurine Hager and Murlene Norman.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.  

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John Buttry officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
