Jackson, Missouri - The Dexter Lady Bearcats easily defeated the Miller Career Academy Phoenix at the Jackson Shootout on Saturday afternoon.

Lady Cats made a few changes at the beginning of the game starting out man-to-man against Miller Career Academy.  Something Bearcat fans haven’t seen in a while.

Lady Cats scored first with 2 points by Krysten Garrison in their first possession of the game.  Garrison continued to increase the lead by 6 hitting three more buckets on her way to a game-high 23 points and 8 rebounds.  

It was 16-4 at the end of the first period with the Bearcats increasing their lead to 23 by the half.  Offensively MCA had their best scoring opportunities in the 3rd period racking up 20 points against the Bearcats. Neither team scored in the fourth period.

Chaylea Mosby recorded 9 for Dexter.  Melanie McKuin and Harley Allen each hit a trey

The #5 ranked Dexter Lady Cats (13-2) will be back in action on Monday, January 18th when they host the Lady Rebels of Park Hills Central.  It’s going to be a great game against the Class 3 defending state champions.  Park Hills is currently ranked #1.  Game time 6:00 p.m.
