Bloomfield, Missouri - The future appears bright for the Bloomfield boys basketball program. The Wildcats continue their impressive winning streak as they improved their record to 4-0 on the season defeating the Kelly Hawks 60-49 at home.
Kelly did not leave without a fight. They paced the Wildcats in each period, but fell short in the fourth quarter giving the Wildcats a larger margin of points.
“I give a lot of credit to Kelly,” commented Bloomfield head basketball coach Jason Karnes. “Coach Garnett had his guys ready to play and compete tonight. We just kind of went through the emotions without a lot of energy.”
“Our margin for error is very small, and we have to make sure we are ready to compete and play as hard as we possibly can every single night,” continued Karnes. “Facing adversity was good for us tonight, and hopefully we learned from it.”
Noah Vandiver tallied an impressive game-high 19 points for the Wildcats including 1 trey.
Nathan Newell recorded 14 points and sank two 3-pointers for Bloomfield.
Austin Bond also added 14 points for the Wildcats.

In JV basketball action the Kelly Hawks defeated the Wildcats 45-43. Their record moves to 2-2 on the season.
Matt Gibbs tallied a game-high 22 points and Carson Blair recorded 14 points.
Bloomfield (4-0) will be back in action on Friday evening at Essex against the Richland Rebels.

![Notre Dame Gets Past Dexter in Opening Game of SEMO Conference Tournament](/img_uvb1_910_800.jpg)
Sikeston, Missouri - Dexter’s Jacob Pedigo and Gabe Jackson tied for game-high 17 points, but it was not enough to beat the Notre Dame Bulldogs in the opening game of the SEMO Conference Tournament at the Sikeston Field House on Monday evening.
“We had a real chance to knock these guys off, but did not execute in some crucial situations both on offense and defense," commented Dexter head basketball coach Josh Dowdy. "Once we handle these plays differently, we will have a better outcome."
At the end of the first quarter Notre Dame led 15-10, but it didn’t take long for Dexter recover. They held the Bulldogs to just 7 points in the second period while tallying 15 points of their own. Half time score was 25-22 with the Bearcats in the lead.
Jacob Pedigo recorded 17 points including one trey for the Bearcats.
Gabe Jackson also tallied 17 points for Dexter.
Ethan Flowers added two 3-pointers and one free throw.
"Jacob Pedigo and Gabe Jackson both had nice games on offense tonight," continued Dowdy. "Jackson is becoming more and more comfortable inside each game. Pedigo is playing with confidence on offense. He has had a real nice start to the season."
Notre Dame (2-1) scored 16 points in both the third and fourth quarters to secure their win over the Dexter and move on to play #1 seed Sikeston on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The winner of that game will move into the semifinals.
Dexter (0-3) will play the #2 Jackson Indians on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at the Sikeston Field House.
“We will now face Jackson twice in the next 6 days." stated Dowdy. "We will then try to clean up some of our mistakes and get ready for the Christmas Tournament at Bloomfield. These kids are really trying and I am proud of their effort."

Bernie, Missouri - Top seeded Bloomfield Wildcats exploded in the first half putting 31 points on the board to secure their victory over Campbell 54 - 24 in the Championship game of the Bernie Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament.
“Good week for our boys,” commented Bloomfield head basketball Coach Jason Karnes. “Thought we played and competed very well. Kind of got off to a slow start Friday, but we were able to find our rhythm and get to a 10 point halftime lead.”
The Wildcats held Campbell to just 3 points in the second half with their amazing defense. Senior Dakota Adams made Campbell’s only bucket of the half. The Camels later recorded one free throw.
“We had a tremendous defensive effort the second half,” continued Karnes. “We were really able to extend out lead. Proud of our guys and their effort.”
Offensively the Wildcats had two great quarters. They tallied 21 points in the second period and recorded 15 points in the fourth period to bring home the win.
Noah Vandiver tallied a game-high 12 points including one 3-pointer.
Nathan Newell tied with Noah for a game-high12 points, all on 3-point baskets.
Caleb Pulley contributed 11 points including 2 three pointers.
Tim Hector recorded one trey and Tyler Battles added two treys.

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter junior varsity Bearcats took down the mighty Bluejays on Tuesday night in Charleston.
“We got off the bus ready to play,” commented Dexter JV Coach Josh Dowdy “We were diving on the floor, talking on defense, and played with great enthusiasm.”
Seth Rogers paced the Bearcats with a game-high 21 points including one 3-pointer.
“Seth played with great composure and fearlessness,” Dowdy said of Rogers. “He took it right at the defense and put them on their heels.”
The Bluejays fell behind by five points nearing the half and never recovered, securing the Bearcats first win of the season 45-36.
“The kids were real excited to get their first win,” continued Dowdy. “It took us a little bit to get them settled down after the game…they were all over the place. The energy was great, even the guys that did not see the floor as much were joining in. It was truly a team effort.”
