Elks Lodge Youth Wrestling Program - Time to Register

Dexter, Missouri - While high school wrestling is beginning to heat up, elementary students can also have a chance to practice their wrestling skills.  Registration is from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Dexter Elks Lodge on Monday, November 23, 2015.

Each year the Elks Lodge sponsors grades 1st - 6th boys and girls wrestling and any child in those grades in Stoddard County are encouraged to participate.  This will be the 4th season for Jason Twomey, who will be available tonight at the Elks Lodge during the registration.

Payment is required at time of registration.  The cost to participate is $20 per child and parents may also order a t-shirt as well.

In January duels will begin every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Dexter High School.  There will be four teams, green, blue, red, and gold and in February there will be a final awards ceremony for everyone who participated.

Practices will begin soon.  These youngsters will wrestle with athletes from other towns in their weight class.  Some towns that have chosen to participate are Kennett, New Madrid County Central, Sikeston, and Notre Dame.

Wrestlers will be educated in the basic skills necessary to succeed in the sport of wrestling through a safe and structured practice schedule.

Coaches will encourage the athletes to reach their highest potential through hard work on the mat and in school while keeping a positive attitude and having good sportsmanship.

If you are interested in being a referee contact Jason Twomey at (573) 625-1974.

Let’s support these youngsters and get them started in a great sport!
