DMS 7th Grade Boys Basketball Team Defeated Richland

Dexter, Missouri - The 7th grade Dexter Bearcats beat the Richland Rebels 19-10 in two periods.

The Bearcats jumped out to a comfortable 10-3 lead in the first period. 

Riley Slusher tallied a game-high 7 points for the Bearcats. 

Andrew Ellinghouse recorded 5 points for Dexter including one 3-pointer.

Richland’s Nathan Elles recorded a team-high 4 points and Andrew Partenberry tallied 3 points.

Final Score Dexter 19, Richland 10

Richland Rebels Fall to Talented 8th Grade Bearcats

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter 8th grade boys basketball team defeated the Richland Rebels 48-15 Monday evening at T.S. Hill Middle School in Dexter.

The Bearcats increased their lead by 16 points in the first quarter and allowing only 6 points in the entire first half.  Half time score Dexter 28, Richland 6.

Brodie Pollock recorded a game-high 25 points for the Bearcats.

Garrett Henson tallied one 3-pointer for Dexter.

Richland’s Tanner Freeman, Noah Pearce and Norman Oakley each earned 5 points.  Tanner Freeman hit one 3-pointer.

Final Score Dexter 48, Richland 15

DMS 7th Grade Lady Cats Defeat Twin Rivers

Dexter, Missouri - The middle school Lady Cats 7th and 8th grade basketball teams earned wins at home Tuesday evening defeating the Twin Rivers Royals.

The seventh grade Cats beat Twin Rivers 36-20 and the eighth grade girls defeated Twin Rivers 33-26.

In 7th grade action the Lady Cats tied with the Lady Royals in the first period.  The Lady Royals outscored Dexter in the second period.  Half-time score was Lady Royals 13 –Dexter 10.

Mikayla Dodson had a team-high 19 points for Dexter. Karley Keirsey collected 11 points and Sydney Asberry recorded 6 points.

Keirsey hit one 3-pointer for the Cats.

DMS 8th Grade Boys Basketball Roster and Schedule
Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Middle School 8th grade boys basketball program has begun under the direction of Coach Josh Dowdy.

This will be the second year for Coach Josh Dowdy and the first year for new assistant coach Lucas McKinnis.

Gavin Warner, 8th grade student, will be this year's Team Manager.

Playing for the 8th grade team are: #2 Jack Scruggs, #10 Andrew Williams, #11 Logan Wyman, #13 Cole Barker, #14 Spencer Warren, #15 Haden Hillis, #22 Garrett Henson, #23 Preston Walton, #25 Bryston Pemberton, #31Colton Bollinger, #35 Carson Bell, #43 Shawn Robards, #44 Blake Racca, #45 Brodie Pollock, and #54 Eric Allen.

They opened their season at home against the Twin Rivers Royals from Fisk.  The 8th grade Bearcats defeated the Royals 58-27.

They traveled to Woodland for their second game.  The 8th grade team won 42-13.

Dexter, Missouri -
Jackie Kiger is a junior at Dexter High School and is the daughter of Jerry and Karen Kiger.

She has been a member Fellowship of Christian Athletes for three years and Student Council for three years.

She has lettered in Cheerleading, Lady Cats Dance Team, and Track & Field.

She is the granddaughter of Don and Peggy Davies, Robert Kyer, and Breneda Henley.

Her hobbies are cheer, dance, track and hunting.  She attends First Baptist Church.

After high school graduation she plans to attend college.

Our Dexter Cheerleaders motivate our football team and Bearcat Fans each Friday night and we are very exciting to see them cheer in front of the home town crowd or at an away game!  We are very proud of them and glad they are on OUR team!

Their routines have many components including tumbling, jumps, cheers, stunts, and dance and they are there for us each and every game, rain or shine, hot or cold!!  We love our Bearcat cheerleaders!
