Virginia G. Parker, daughter of the late Loy Riley “Pat” Patterson and Talitha Ann Aslin Patterson, was born on January 18, 1922 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on October 30, 2015 at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 93.
Mrs. Parker was a member of the Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and also a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter for many years.
She had worked as a bookkeeper and homemaker and was a former resident of Dexter.
On December 25, 1942, she was united in marriage to Arthur Bryant “Archie” Parker in Dexter, Missouri. Mr. Parker preceded her in death on March 9, 2001. She later married Ale Clifford Cato who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen Bryant Parker and his wife Celeste of Spearfish, South Dakota and Michael Loy Parker and his wife Dawn of Sikeston, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Andrea Parker, Gregory Parker, Geoffrey Parker and Jennifer McCoy; and by five great-grandchildren, Aden Parker, Elise Parker, Henley Parker, Elizabeth McCoy and William McCoy; and by four step-daughters, Pamela Horton, Sandra Cato, Janet Cornelius and Amy Reynolds.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Patterson and Loy Riley Patterson, Jr.; and by six sisters, Patsy Ann Patterson, Pauline Hardy, Opal Campbell, Ruth Swindle, Loyce Reed and Barbara Mouser.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M.
Funeral services will follow at 2:30 P.M. with Rev. David Ross officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
Linda Mae Wright, 75, of Dexter passed away on Monday, October 26th at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma cancer.
Linda was born on August 8th, 1940, in Kennett, MO to Archie Douglas and Elizabeth Lochial Milburn. She married Billy Pat Wright on June 16, 1961 at the Hayti Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Linda was a graduate of Freed Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee. She and Billy Pat Wright owned Century 21 Real Estate where she served as a broker. She was a substitute teacher for the Dexter school system. She also worked for the unemployment office for several years and retired as an auditor for the state of Missouri.
She was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ. She was an avid seamstress and loved to read and cook. She was a former president of the Dexter Republican Club. She enjoyed the beaches of Gulf Shores and Captiva Island, as well as spending time at Windy Hill Farms near Eleven Point River and Forche Lake.
Linda is survived by her husband of 54 years, Billy Pat Wright, three daughters, six grandchildren, and one brother. Family survivors include daughter Elaine Elizabeth Meade and spouse Chris of Orlando, FL; daughter Leah Wright Kelley of Dexter, MO; daughter Laura Paige Niblett and spouse Tad of Foley, AL; Grandchildren Drew and Kole Kelley, Jackson and Laighton Meade, and Riley and Cassidy Niblett; brother Douglas Milburn and spouse Debbie of Kennett, MO.
Funeral and visitation arrangements have been made at the Dexter Church of Christ. Services will be held on Thursday, October 29th. Visitation will be 12-1pm with the funeral immediately following.

Kevin Lynn Maddox, son of Robert C. Maddox of Essex, Missouri and Virginia Cobb of Chaffee, Missouri, was born on April 25, 1973 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on October 27, 2015 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 42.
Mr. Maddox had worked as a farm laborer and was a resident of Essex, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Bethany Stanberry Maddox of the home; by two sons, Austin Maddox and Tyler Maddox of Essex, Missouri; by one daughter, McKenzie Maddox of Essex, Missouri; by one brother Steven Cruse of Sikeston, Missouri; by one half -brother, Chad Michael Maddox of Gray Ridge, Missouri; by his maternal grandmother, Edith Cobb of Dexter; and by his paternal grandparents, C. L. and Vivian Maddox of Essex, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by one brother Bobby Carl Maddox and by one half -brother, Robert James Maddox.

Oleta Hicks, daughter of the late Homer Stumbaugh and Rosie Freeman Stumbaugh, was born on April 5, 1935 in Lamar, Arkansas and departed this life on October 26, 2015 at her residence in Essex at the age of 80.
Mrs. Hicks worked for the Richland School District as a secretary for thirty-four years.
On December 24, 1954, she was united in marriage to Cecil Hicks in Yuma, Arizona. Mrs. Hicks preceded her in death on September 16, 2015.
She is survived by one son, Keith Hicks and his wife Evelyn of Essex, Missouri; by one daughter, Sheryll Page of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; By one sister, Loreta Watson of Wappapello, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Nick Cozby, Katie Cozby, Ryan Hicks and Ashley Hicks; by three great-grandchildren, Lily Cozby, Ryker Cozby and Hudson Daugherty; by one step-grandson, Luke Patrick; and by one step-great-grandson, Finn Patrick.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Erma Hemphill.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. James Malloy and Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.

Bob Shaw, son of the late Carl Steven Shaw and Milbert “Mimi” Sanders Shaw, was born on August 3, 1928 in Parma, Missouri and departed this life on October 23, 2015 at his residence in Highland, Illinois at the age of 87.
Mr. Shaw was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ. He was a master brick layer, a former resident of Dexter and a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.
On December 29, 1943, he was united in marriage to Nelda Lee Crain. Mrs. Shaw preceded him in death on October 24, 2002.
He is survived by two sons, Robert “Pete” Shaw and his wife Amanda of Tulsa, Oklahoma and James Rand Shaw and his wife Donna of Highland, Illinois; by eight grandchildren; and by fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Shaw, Jr.; and by one sister, Jean Ann Grissom.
