Dexter, Missouri -The ShowMe Times is proud to highlight the outstanding performance of two Dexter Bearcat Football Athletes.
Each week the ShowMe Times will choose two players – one offensive player and one defensive player who will be featured as Players of the Week.
Leadership on the athletic field is often a good indicator of the future development of our young students and is a perfect training ground for future leaders.
This week several athletes contributed on the field, and many athletes showed extreme professionalism against their opponent; however only two players were chosen.
The ShowMe Times is pleased to announce the Players of the Week are for Offense - Mr. Jason Jarrell and for Defense - Mr. Jake Adams.Jason Jarrell caught nine passes for 99 yards against the Park Hills Rebels. He averaged 11 yards per carry and his longest catch was 21 yards. Jarrell also played a little defense on Friday night making 4 tackles.
"Jason had a break out game for us offensively," commented head football coach Justin Peden. "He is a great athlete and provides us another weapon heading into the home stretch of the season. Very proud of his efforts on Friday."
Jake Adams had five tackles and 6 tackle assists against the Rebels giving him 11 total. He had two tackles for a loss of 9 yards.
"Jake had a great game for us Friday night against Park Hills," stated head coach Justin Peden. "He is a big hitter and the guys feed on that for us defensively. He can lower the boom and make backs think twice about running up the middle on us."
Congratulations to these fine young men on their accomplishments.
