James Bill Chambers

James “Bill” Chambers was born October 10, 1957 in Kankakee, Illinois and passed away in his home in Dexter on August 28, 2015 at the age of 57.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Eugene Chambers and Marjorie Jean Chambers.

He is survived by his sons, Derek Chambers of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Jason Chambers of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; by two grandsons, Braden and Colten; by one sister, Alexia Helm of Bourbonnais, Illinois.

Those who were close to Bill will remember him for his kind heart, his willingness to go out of his way to help someone in need whether they be friend or stranger and his passion for music, namely classic rock, blues, folk rock and classical.  He was a classically trained pianist since age five and an accomplished drummer and guitarist. 

Bill was also an avid cook, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the local Eagles Lodge, a supporter of the Dexter Freedom of the Road Riders and a member of the Kankikee, Illinois Eastridge High School Class of 1975.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
