  • .. HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 9 PM CDT TUESDAY...
  • * TEMPERATURE... AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 90S COMBINED WITH VERY HIGH HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL PRODUCE HEAT INDEX VALUES IN THE 105 TO 110 DEGREE RANGE TUESDAY AFTERNOON... GENERALLY ALONG AND WEST OF A LINE FROM FAIRFIELD TO SHAWNEETOWN ILLINOIS TO MURRAY KENTUCKY.
  • * IMPACTS... A HEAT INDEX OF 105 IS GENERALLY CONSIDERED THE THRESHOLD WHERE THE BODY BEGINS TO SUCCUMB TO THE EFFECTS OF THE HEAT... MAKING HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE A GREATER CONCERN IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
