Ruby Mae Stanfield, daughter of the late Ralph W. Fralick and Ella Gray Thomas, was born on September 18, 1919 in Clarkton, Missouri and departed this life on May 31, 2015 at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter at the age of 95.
Mrs. Stanfield was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bernie and a resident of Bernie. She worked for Brown Shoe Company in Bernie for seventeen years as a cobbler and was the custodian for the Bernie Baptist Church for fifty-eight years. She was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union and taught Sunday school for fifty years.
On October 12, 1940, she was united in marriage to Rondell Stanfield in Bloomfield, Missouri. Mr. Stanfield preceded her in death on June 28, 1972.
She is survived by one son, Larry Brent Stanfield of Bernie; by one daughter, Elaine Hemker and husband Bill of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; by one brother, Tom Fralick of Bernie; by two sisters, Lois Hicks of Bernie and Ruth Ann Medlin of Flint, Michigan; by two grandchildren, Larry Allen Stanfield of Bernie and Meredith Nicole Moyers of Sesser, Illinois; and by three great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace Moyers, Hadley Jo Moyers and Jax Lian Moyers.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, James Ronnie Stanfield; by two brothers, Louis Fralick and Frank Fralick and by three sisters, Mildred Fralick, Flora Bell Blocker and one in infancy.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in BERNIE on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in BERNIE on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John Knapp and Rev. Jerry Darby officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
