She was born February 9th, 1952, in Cairo, Illinois to the late Edgar and Nadine Barnhill. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Dexter.
On December 22, 1972, she married her best friend and love of her life, Larry Layton, who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her son & daughter in law, Jonathan & Jennifer Layton of Puxico; 3 granddaughters, Jocelyn, Raylee & Zoie Layton, who were her pride and joy that she loved to the moon and back. She is also survived by one brother, Eddie Barnhill of Charleston; two sisters, Diann Volker of Adams, Tennessee and Debbie Crocker of Sikeston; mother-in-law, Luella Layton of Dexter.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dean Williams officiating.

Emilye Garner, was born on November 22, 1926 at Dunnville, Ontario, Canada and departed this life in the Mulberry Manor at Dexter on May 23, 2015 at the age of 88.
Mrs. Garner was a member of the Bernie Christian Church, had previously worked at the Midway Drive In, Family Drive In and Weeks Theater all in Dexter. She had served as a receptionist for Stallings C.P.A., The Bank Of Bloomfield and for Dr. Neal Garner D.O. She had been an active member of the Dexter Chapter, Order Of Eastern Star #311, where she had served as Worthy Matron and had been a member of the Dexter Civic Club.
She was united in marriage to Winfred C. Garner on November 27, 1946 at St. Louis. Mr. Garner preceded her in death on October 6, 2000.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Neal Garner D.O. and wife Lavern of Dexter: by two grandchildren, Brant Garner and wife Brenda and Marisa Garner.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Casina and John Casina: by two sisters, Jeanne Vinson and Nellie Casina.

Lt. Col. Clifford T. Manlove (Ret.) was born on November 12, 1917 in Wood River, Illinois and departed this life on May 20, 2015 at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 97.
Mr. Manlove was a Retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, American Legion Post #59, Dexter Elks Lodge and the Daedalians Fraternity of Military Pilots.
Growing up in Dexter, Manlove was inspired by the great pilot of the day, Charles A. Lindbergh. Enrolling at Purdue University in 1936, he obtained two years of college credit to begin his aviation dream. Clifford Manlove enlisted in the U.S. Army Corp on Aug. 15, 1941, as an Aviation Cadet. Continuing to chase the dream, he graduated from Advance Pilot training on March 16, 1942, as a 2nd Lieutenant.
Our home town hero went on to fly a myriad of different aircraft in his career from a B-17 bomber to a P-51 fighter in World War Two and then flew transport aircraft in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the U.S. Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross, which is a military decoration awarded to any officer or enlisted member of the United States Armed Forces who distinguishes himself or herself in support of operations by "heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight involving conflict with an opposing foreign force. Retiring from the military on May 31, 1969, after 28 years, Manlove returned to Dexter with his beloved wife June, and their five sons and one daughter. Throughout the years, Cliff Manlove has fulfilled many tasks, including Chairman of the Dexter Airport's governing board and Grand Marshall of all Veteran's Day parades since 1969.
On March 16, 1942 he married June Blakeney in Sacramento, California. Mrs. Manlove survives of their residence in Dexter.
Besides his wife he is survived by five sons, Dexter Manlove of Dallas, Texas, Clifford T. Manlove II of Perryville, Missouri, Mark Manlove of San Diego, California, Jon Manlove of Walnut Creek, California and Kirk Manlove of Springfield, Missouri; by one daughter, Donna McGhee of Clarksville, Tennessee; by eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, James Manlove.

Verna Godwin, daughter of the late Yewell Lawrence and Pearl White Lawrence was born on September 1, 1930 in Stoddard County, Missouri and departed this life on May 22, 2015 at the SoutheastHealthCenter of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 84 years.
Mrs. Godwin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, former Chairman of the Stoddard County Children’s Home board, formerly employed at Bloomfield and Dexter Public Schools, Past President of Stoddard County Women’s Council for County Improvement, past co-chairman of Stoddard County Arts and Humanities, Council member of Missouri Council on Arts, named 1965 Woman of Year, and was also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Delta Kappa.
On June 18, 1953 she was united in marriage to Carl Lehman Godwin in Bloomfield, Missouri. Mr. Godwin survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Lehman W. Godwin and wife Elizabeth of Springfield, Missouri and Grant A. Godwin and wife Trina of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother Yewell Gene Lawrence of Dexter; by one sister Geraldine Harvey of Indianapolis, Indiana; also by five grandchildren; Sarah Godwin, Andy Godwin, Katie Godwin, Jacob Godwin, and Will Godwin.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday May 26, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church in Dexter with Dr. Barry Winders officiating.
Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
She had lived in Bloomfield most of her life. She was a member of the Beech Grove General Baptist Church near Bloomfield and loved quilting, gardening and loved to cook for her family and friends.
On September 27, 1947 she was married to George L. Pullum. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2002.
Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Barry & Jackie Pullum of Bloomfield; two grandchildren and wives, Bill & Melissa Pullum of Bloomfield, Neil & Rebecca Pullum of Bloomfield; one great grandson, Colt Pullum of Bloomfield; two brothers, Larry Cook of Dallas, Texas, Garry Cook of Michigan; and one sister, Colene Sykes of Dixon, Tennessee. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother, J. C. Cook, and two sisters, Susie McCollum and Anna Lois Underwood.
Friends may visit on Sunday, May 24, 2015, after 12:30 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Ricky Roberts officiating.
Interment will follow at the Bluff Cemetery at Idalia with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
