Dexter Boys Tennis Team Remains Undefeated

Dexter, Missouri – The Dexter Bearcats boys tennis team remains undefeated and closer to their first District title in years.

On Tuesday afternoon they defeated DeSoto 5-0 in the Class 1, District 1 Semifinal.  They will be back on the court Wednesday, May 13 at 4:00 p.m. against an old rivalry Notre Dame.

Notre Dame defeated Arcadia Valley on Tuesday in Cape Girardeau.  Dexter has already beaten the Bulldogs 7-2 on March 31st and 7-2 on April 15th.

In Doubles:

Noah Kronk and Ethan Flowers beat Blake Krodinger and Ryan Wolfe 8-3

Zach Potts and Josh Kohlbaker beat Madison Spiker and Kyle Yancey 8-0

Brooks Propst and Addison Moore beat Zachary Light and Rylee Harrimann 8-0

In Singles:

Brooks Propst defeated Zachary Light 6-0, 6-0

Addison Moore defeated Rylee Harrimann 6-0, 6-0

“I thought we shook off the rust pretty well,” stated Dexter coach Kurt Lovelady.  “Hopefully we can shake off some more rust before Wednesday.  We’ve got to place shots well going forward as we see better and better competition from here on out.”

“Notre Dame has a little bit different line-up,” continued Lovelady.  “They have made a few changes.  We have beaten them twice and there is something about beating a team a third time in a season that can always be challenging.  We need to play well and place our shots better than we did today.”
