Linda Sue Rieverts

Linda Sue Rieverts

Linda Sue Rieverts, daughter of the late James A. Pierce and Francis M. Enteman Pierce, was born on June 25, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life in Poplar Bluff on May 10, 2015 at the age of 61. 

Mrs. Rieverts was a homemaker and a resident of Dudley, Missouri. 

On November 9, 1987, she was united in marriage to Harold Rieverts in St. Louis, Missouri.  Mr. Rieverts survives of the home in Dudley.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Dennis Van Pentecost, Jr. and his wife Heather of St. Cloud, Florida, Thomas Rieverts of Dexter and James Rue of Mascoutah, Illinois; by three daughters, Ellen Hensley and her husband Dick of Poplar Bluff, Rosa Bryant and her husband Ben of Dexter and Victoria Saum and her husband Tony of Dexter; by one brother John Rue of St. Louis; by one sister, Mary Ann Pierce of Bernie; and by twelve grandchildren, Isaiah Hensley, Noah Hensley, Elijah Hensley, Hannah Bryant, Tristan Bryant, Lily Bryant, Daphnee Pentecost, Bethaney Pentecost, Jacob Smith, Sofia Saum, Katherine Abbott and Zane Rue.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Sederes; by one brother, James Rue; and by two sisters, Mary Ellen Hoffman and Joyce Pierce.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Jeff Miles officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

The family requests that donations be made to the United Cancer Assistance Network, 1899 North Westwood, Suite C, PMB #172, Poplar Bluff, Missouri 63901.

Earl Dewayne McClain

Earl “Dewayne” McClain son of the late Elden Floyd McClain and Mable Joiner McClain was born on August 22, 1955 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on May 9, 2015 at the St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 59 years.

Mr. McClain was of the Pentecostal Faith, a  former employee of the Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, Missouri, and a resident of Fenton.

On April 10, 2004 he was united in marriage to Tina Smith in St. Charles, Missouri.  Mrs. McClain survives of the home in Fenton.

Besides his wife, other survivors include one son, Christopher McClain of Malden, Missouri; one daughter, Lori Rutledge of Paducah, Kentucky; by four brothers, Ronnie McClain of Sweetwater, Tennessee,  Daniel McClain and wife Nancy of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Bobby McClain and wife Kim of Richmond, Kentucky, and Gary McClain of Malden, Missouri; by two sisters, Ruth Meeks and husband Charles of Alton, Illinois and Betty Preston and husband Brian of Leachville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Joshua McClain, Alma McClain, Jacob Rutledge and Jonathan Rutledge.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bonnie Freed, Nancy Lou McClain, and Donna Kay McClain.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 11:30-2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. 

Funeral services will then be conducted on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Allen Haislip officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri.

Rachel Davis
Rachel Davis, daughter of the late Orville B. and Rosa Parilee Hollis Brady, was born in Collinwood, Tennessee on March 16, 1929, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico on May 9, 2015, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 23 days.

She had moved to the Puxico area in 1949. She had worked at the IGA and B&C Market, operated a licensed day care for over 35 years, was a member of First Baptist Church in Puxico, the Thursday Culture Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7822.

On May 8, 1948, she was married to James Roy Davis in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2014.

Surviving are one son & wife, Jim & Nikki Davis of Wappapello; one daughter & husband, Carol & Ronnal Clinton of Puxico; three granddaughters and husbands, Rachelle & Travis McGill, Tonna & Eric O'Dell all of Puxico, and Melissa Lam of Wappapello; two great granddaughters, Lydia & Phoebe O'Dell both of Puxico; three brothers, Pat and Grady Brady both of Farmington, Missouri, Billy Brady of Arnold, Missouri; two sisters, Jean Matlock of Fenton, Missouri and Betty Woolsey of Arnold, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Davis; four brothers and six sisters.

Visitation will be held on Monday May 11, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri. Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7822 will conduct services at 7:00 pm during the visitation.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Justin Miller of Puxico officiating.

Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P O Box 338, Puxico, MO 63960.

Barry L. Baldwin

Barry L. Baldwin, son of the late Eugene L. Baldwin and Mary F. Bennett Baldwin, was born on October 28, 1951 in Stoddard County, Missouri and departed this life on May 5, 2015 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 62.

Mr. Baldwin was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the U.S.S. Oriskany and was a resident of Wappapello, Missouri.

He is survived by two sons, Roberto Baldwin and Barry James Baldwin; and by one daughter, Melissa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George David Baldwin.

Arrangements are being handled by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Eva McKinley

Eva McKinley, daughter of the late Edward Fritts and Velma Kitchens Fritts, was born on January 24, 1926 in Stoddard County, Missouri and departed this life on May 6, 2015 at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell at the age of 89.

Mrs. McKinley was a member of the First Church of God in Dexter.  She was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Ralph Junior Clark on October 1, 1943 in Bloomfield, Missouri.  Mr. Clark preceded her in death on May 20, 1972.  She was then united in marriage to John McKinley on September 7, 1973 in Willow Springs, Missouri.  Mr. McKinley preceded her in death on March 16, 2005.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Clark  and his wife Vianne of Poplar Bluff and Ray Clark and his wife Carol of Eagle Rock, Missouri; by one brother, George Fritts of Baldwin, Missouri; by two sisters, Betty Killian of Poplar Bluff and Delorse Maloney of Campbell; by five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Wilfred Fritts; and by three sisters, Emma Niehaus, Wilma Hampton and Barbara Ann Fritts

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
