Shirley Faye Duffie

Shirley Faye Duffie, daughter of the late Sylvester Grigery and Maggie Parr Grigery, was born on September 18, 1935 in East Prairie, Missouri and departed this life of March 22, 2015 at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 79.

Mrs. Duffie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bernie.  She had worked as a supervisor at Brown Shoe Company and was a resident of Bernie.

On June 15, 1979, she was united in marriage to Raymond L. Duffie in Bernie, Missouri.  Mr. Duffie survives of the home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sharlette  (Joe) Watson of Dexter and Debra (Randy) Silliman of Slidell, Louisiana; and by one son, Charles (Geneal) Evans, Jr. of Bernie; by one stepson, Terry Duffie of Little Rock, Arkansas; by two brothers, Wesley Grigery of Troy, Missouri and Leslie Grigery of Sikeston; by eight grandchildren, Jarrod (Lia) Watson of Nashville, Tennessee, Kyle (Beth) Watson of Murfeesboro, Tennessee, Chad (Dena) Silliman of Dexter, Missouri, Tracy Botsch of Bernie, Missouri, Jessica (Dustin) Hylton of Slidell, Louisiana, Jordan (Brittine) Evans of Florissant, Missouri, Brad (Linda) Duffie of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Bryan (Jeanne) Duffie of Jonesboro, Arkansas; by sixteen great-grandchildren, Justus and Dakota Silliman, Macie and Kerri Botsch, Reese, Rylee and Luke Watson, Adley Jo, Tatum, Will and Ellory Watson, Kaylin, Kylee and Kolston Hylton and Nathan and Phillip Duffie.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Roy Grigery and Sylvester Grigery, Jr. (deceased in infancy); a step-son Timothy Duffie, and by four sisters, Kathryn Miller, Thelma Metheny, Sylvia Mae Oliver and Lucille Fouts.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Dale Hartle officiating.

 Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery
