Dexter, Missouri – Southwest Elementary in Dexter is now taking kindergarten screening appointments for the 2015 – 2016 school year.
The screenings will take place at the Southwest Elementary School gym on Thursday, April 16th and Friday, April 17th from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
All incoming kindergarten students must attend this screening. Children must be five years of age before August 1, 2015 to be eligible to attend. Please call 573-614-1015 to schedule an appointment.
A Social Security number must be available when making the appointment.
The following documents are mandatory and must be provided at the time of screening: Birth Certificate shot record (does not have to be up-to-date), and proof of residency. The proof of residency must be a financial obligation to the address for example two utility bills, cable bill, water bill, tax statement, mortgage statement, cell phone bull, etc.
The last day to make an appointment will be Monday, April 13, 2015!
Dexter, Missouri – The Lions Club of Dexter will host their annual Waffle Day this Saturday, March 14th.
This event will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 102 East Castor Street from 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Their breakfast menu will be waffles, sausage, coffee, and milk. Tickets are $5.00 each.

Dexter, Missouri - The 18th Annual Ecumenical Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner will be held at the Sacred Heart Parish Center in Dexter.
This year’s event will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available for purchase.
Menu includes corned beef, cabbage, parsleyed potatoes, cornbread, homemade desserts and a drink. All for $7.00 each and children under 7 years are free. Carry-outs are available. For more information call 573-614-0340.
This outreach project is held to support local charity organizations and is one of the largest Ecumenical fundraising events held in Stoddard County.
All proceeds from the Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner are divided equally between the Meals on Wheels program for seniors in Stoddard County, The Stoddard County Children’s Home, the Stoddard County ARC, and the Stoddard County Gospel Mission.
Join them and support this Ecumenical project. This is one of the few Stoddard County projects that bring interdenominational organizations together in service, to support organizations that serve our fellow citizens.
