Letha Laverne Walker Burleson

Letha Laverne Walker Burleson, daughter of the late John Wade Walker and Della May Helm Walker, was born on December 4, 1921 in Parma, Missouri and departed this life on March 15, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Malden, Missouri at the age of 93.

Mrs. Burleson was a member of the Church of Christ in Bernie and a resident of Dexter.  She was a homemaker and worked along side her husband as a farmer’s wife. 

On June 24, 1938, she was united in marriage to John Paul Burleson in Cape Girardeau.  Mr. Burleson preceded her in death on August 21, 1986.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Burleson (Janie) of Dexter, Missouri and Joe Burleson (Judy) of Valparaiso, Indiana; by two daughters, Kay Wright (Glynn) of O'Fallon, Missouri and Sue Bunting of Fairfield, Illinois; by nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Etta Michaels, Algie Edwards Phillips, Juanita Sanders and Ruby Glenn; and by two brothers, Ezra Walker and Paul Walker.

Friends may call at the Church of Christ in Bernie, Missouri on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. 

Funeral services will be conducted at the Bernie Church of Christ on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 12:00 Noon with Stan Dauck officiating and Wayne Reams being the song leader. 

Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter.
