Bell City Rotarians to Host Pancake Breakfast

Bell City, Missouri – The Bell City Rotary Club will host a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, February 7th from 6:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the Bell City High School cafeteria.

Besides delicious pancakes, sausage, bacon, juice, milk and coffee will be served for just $6.00 per adult and for children 11 and under it’s only $4.00 each.

You may purchase tickets at the door or from a Bell City Rotarian or send an email to Lincoln Scherer at lscherer@bellcity.k12.mo.us.

4th Annual Larry B. Jones H.O.P.E. Campaign!

Bloomfield, Missouri - It’s that time again!  We’re excited about the 4th annual Larry B. Jones H.O.P.E. Campaign fundraiser!

In memory of our dad, in honor of our mother, and for all who’ve battled cancer themselves or have fought alongside a family member or friend! This is our way of giving back! We celebrate H.O.P.E. ~ Healing, Optimism, Prayer and Example!

Since March of 2011, our charity has raised nearly $40,000 for area cancer warriors and individuals faced with life-threatening illness.

The H.O.P.E. Campaign is a division of 18 FORE Life, a 501(c)(3) charity, with a shared mission of benefiting area cancer warriors and individuals faced with life-threatening illness.

To date, 18 FORE Life has sent out over $1,212,000.00 in love offerings to families all over Southeast Missouri. The generous donations and support to the charity have truly made a difference. But, there’s “more work to do!”

We're selling t-shirts this year.  They are available for order now through February 20, 2015! 

The H.O.P.E. Campaign is also hosting a fish fry in Bloomfield on March  20, 2015!  Pre-selling fish fry tickets 2-6-15 through 3-17-15!

Dexter, Missouri – It’s that time of the year when 10 Pins for Ben will make its debut at the Dexter Bowling Center!

You will have an awesome time supporting a great fundraiser.  This event is sponsored by the Ben Kruse 18 FORE Life organization.

Scott and Keri Kruse of Dexter along with a host of friends created 18 FORE Life and this year they plan to pass the one million dollar mark in love offerings to area cancer patients. 

“We never could have dreamed this up,” says Scott.  He and his wife spend numerous hours with volunteers throughout the area coordinating the efforts of this wonderful charity.

10 Pins for Ben is slated for Saturday, January 31st, SuperBOWL Saturday!  All proceeds go to St. Jude and since 2007 they have sent over $56,000!  WOW!


Kid’s Bowl will be from 10:00 a.m. – Noon and a free t-shirt will be given to each participant.  It’s all you can bowl for any donation!  Last year this awesome group of kids raised $1,500!

Adult bowling will begin at noon and run until 2:30 p.m.  It’s just $60 per bowler or $300 for 5-person team.  Wear your favorite t-shirt or costume and have tons of fun!  T-shirts and prizes will be given as well.

Dexter Elks Contest Winners Announced
Dexter, Missouri - The Elk's Lodge in Dexter hosted their annual American Essay contest for third, fourth, and fifth grade students.

The topic "What the Pledge of Allegiance Means to Me" is an ongoing event held each year.  The top three winners will on to the next level of judging at the district and then on to the state level. 

First place was Bailey Whitaker  Second place was Tucker Kyle and third place went to Kayleigh Gibson

Star Banner 4-H Group to Host Trivia Night

Dexter, Missouri – The Stoddard County Star Banner 4-H group will host a Trivia Night and Silent Auction at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter.

The event will take place Friday, January 23, 2015 with doors open at 6:00 p.m. and trivia beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the top thre teams!

“These kids have been helping 18Fore Life and Wreaths Across America for several years now as well as other organizations within our community,” commented Monie Brehmer, 4-H Youth Program Assistant for Stoddard County.  ‘They don’t ask for recognition, but they do it because they are the most kindhearted, generous kids you will ever meet.  I am so proud of this group and want to help them as much as I can to make this a successful event for them.”

The cost is $10 per person and there will be eight participants per table.   Drinks and snacks are provided.

All proceeds will be donated to the 18Fore Life, UCAN and Wreaths Across America.
