Bloomfield Wildcats Defeat Richland

Bloomfield, Missouri – The Bloomfield Wildcats varsity boys basketball program improved their record to 4 – 1 with a convincing victory over the Richland Rebels.

“Offensively, we played about as well as we could play, and really did a good job for all four quarters,” commented head Bloomfield basketball coach Jason Karnes.  “We weren’t very pleased with our defensive effort the first half, but thought we did a better  job defensively and on the boards the second half.  We are proud of our guys and the way they have played the first two weeks, but we want to continue to practice hard and continue to get better every day.  We need a good week of practice and preparation for a really good Advance team on Friday.”

Preston Tilley recorded a game-high 23 points including five 3-pointers for the Rebels.  Marcus Grayson added 11 including a trey.

Noah Vandiver recorded a team-high 22 points for Bloomfield.  Peton Bell and Tim Hector each hit three treys for the Wildcats.  Bell finished with 15 points and Hector tallied 9 points.

2014 SCAA All-State Volleyball Players

Jackson, Missouri – Players from around the state met at Jackson High School on Saturday, December 13, 2014 for the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association 2014 All-State matches.

Shown in the photo are SCAA players who competed at the event.  From left to right are:  Chelsea Delay (Bloomfield – Class 2 second-team), Lindsey Young (Bloomfield – Class 2 first-team), Jessica Lindsey (Dexter – Class 3 second-team), Shyann Jines (Dexter – Class 3 Honorable Mention), Morgan Baker (Bernie – Class 1 first-team), Kayli Tanner (Bernie – Class 1 Honorable Mention), and Krista Rhodes (Woodland – Class 2 Honorable Mention).

"All-state teams are determined by a committee that meets on Saturday afternoon of the state tournament. Any all-region player is eligible for all-state because (depending on regional strength), a second team player from one part of the state may be better than a first team player from another part of the state. Coaches of all-region players send in a profile that lists season stats, honors and other information to assist the committee. For a player to be honored, their coach must be a member of MHSVCA. The committee then selects between 8-12 players to be on each class's first team, second team and honorable mention teams."
