“The Sound of Music” is a musical from 1959 with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. It is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp and The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. You will recognize many of the songs from the musical, Edelweiss, My Favorite Things, Climb Ev’ry Mountain, and Do-Re-Mi. And of course the song title The Sound of Music most of us can sing by heart.
The set for the musical is being professionally built by Robert Abney from Poplar Bluff. The costumes for the production are being made by Jane's Alterations. The musical will be a top notch performance and the Choir Department would like to encourage everyone in the community to come to one of their performances.
