Dexter, Missouri - Southwest Elementary students earned certificates for being good students on the school bus.  "Positive Bus Referrals".  These are the first grade students who earned such recognition.

Dexter, Missouri – Each month the Dexter Elks Lodge chooses Students of the Month.  Larry White presented certificates and $50 checks for Savings Bonds to Dexter senior Brooks Propst and Shyann Jines.  They are the November Students of the Month!

Brooks is the son of Darrin and Molly Propst.  Shyann is the daughter of Cory and Stacy Blocker and Brian and Amanda Jines.

Both will compete with honorees from other county schools for the Dexter Elks Students of the Year.  Brooks and Shyann, along with their parents and counselor, Jennifer Miller, will be honored at a banquet to be hosted by the Dexter Elks Lodge later in the spring of 2015.

Congratulations Brooks and Shyann!  The Dexter community is proud of your accomplishments and we look forward to watching you shine all year long!

Dexter, Missouri- At the end of every month at Southwest Elementary, one classroom in each grade is recognized for exhibiting the high character with regard to observing the school's 3R's.

The 3R's stand for being Respectful, Ready to Learn and Responsible.  The class with the highest attendance average, combined with the fewest disciplinary measures and general good character are awarded a 3R red flag to be posted in their classroom for the next month.  The students are also awarded "superhero" capes to wear and parade around the gym before returning to class.

The winning kindergarten classroom was Mrs. Brenda Mason, first grade winning classroom was Mrs. Shannon Putnam, and the winning second grade classroom was Mrs. Shelly Leonard.
