
Robert Lee Massingill, son of the late Alexander Massingill and Betty Duvall Massingill, was born on May 15, 1939 in Hattieville, Arkansas and departed this life on October 23, 2014 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 75.
Mr. Massingill was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a farmer and was the owner of Massingill Farms, a veteran of the United States Army and a resident of Dexter.
In 1965, he was married to Joyce Nunn. She preceded him in death in August of 1987. He later was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Ellis Massingill on September 22, 1990 in Dexter. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Chad Massingill of Dexter, Robert Wayne Massingill of Higginson, Arkansas and Mike Richard of Denver, Colorado; by four daughters, Patricia Kahler of Denver, Colorado, Pamela Hodges of Farmington, Arkansas, Rhonda Lewis-Gromer of Dexter and Sherry Cowgur of Joplin, Missouri; by one brother, Elbert Massingill of Dexter; and by fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Besides his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jo Toutcheque; by one brother, Frank Massingill; and by three sisters, Zettie Douglas, Wiladean Monroe and Mildred Davis.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Matthew Hodges officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery, Bernie, Missouri.
