Wendell Wyman McNece

Wendell Wyman McNece
Wendell Wyman McNece, son of the late Carl McNece and Wilma Perry McNece was born in Bernie, Missouri on January 16, 1927 and departed this life in the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, Mississippi at the age of 87.
 
Mr. McNece had served in the United States Army during World War II, he had been self employed as an Over the Road Truck Driver until his retirement and was a member of Gulf Port Heights Baptist Church.
 
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Sandusky at Piggott, Arkansas on June 10, 1946.  Mrs. McNece preceded her husband in death on March 20, 2010.
 
Survivors include one son, Wendell Lee McNece of Oxford, Mississippi; by one daughter, Shirley Webb of Dixon, Illinois; by two brothers, Bud McNece and Keith McNece both of St. Louis, Missouri; by one sister, Helen McNece; by four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.
 
He was preceded in death other than by his parents and his wife, by three brothers and four sisters.
 
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

David Loyd Wheetley
David Loyd Wheetley, son of the late Harold and Mildred Elledge Wheetley, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 9, 1956, and passed away at his residence in Puxico, Missouri on October 9, 2014, at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 29 days.

Mr. Wheetley owned and operated Wheetley Farms in Puxico.  He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the Wappapello Crappie Club.
On September 13, 1974, he was married to Marvell Wheetley in Puxico, Missouri.

Surviving are  his wife, Marvell Cookson of Puxico; two sons, Christopher Wheetley and Joe Wheetley, both of Puxico; his mother, Mildred Wheetley; three sisters, Susan Fouts of Puxico, Sharon Pope of Dudley, and Sandy Roberts of Puxico.  Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Wheetley.

Friends may visit Sunday, October 12, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating.

Interment with be in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.

Faye Leadley
Faye Leadley, daughter of the late Tom C. Brawley and Irene Seals Brawley was born on July 9, 1935 in Bennington, Oklahoma and passed away on October 9, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Dexter at the age of 79.

Mrs. Leadley was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter, a homemaker and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Vhoris Leadley in September of 1959.  Mr. Leadley preceded her in death on April 20, 2010.

Mrs. Leadley is survived by one son, David C. Leadley of Joshua, Texas;  by one daughter, Sondra Leadley of Dexter; by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leslie Brawley and Carlos Brawley and one sister, Susie Brawley.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at 9:00 A. M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Roger Wooten officiating.

Charlie Robert Ross, son of the late James Franklin Ross and Margaret Julie Ann Howard Ross was born in Dardenelle, Arkansas on October 14, 1932 and departed this life at his residence in Campbell, Missouri on October 9, 2014 at the age of 81.

Mr. Ross was the Owner of Charlie Ross & Sons Trenching Service.  He was a member of Church of God in Parma, Missouri. 

He was united in marriage to Elsie Vernell Cobb in Morehouse, Missouri on October 3, 1953. 

Survivors include, his wife, Vernell Ross of their home in Campbell, Missouri; by one son, Jonathan Wayne Ross & wife Jacki of Malden, Missouri; by two daughters, Patricia Ann Martin & husband Robert of Campbell, Missouri and Sharon Elizabeth McClain & husband Danny of Malden, Missouri; by four sisters, Margaret Ellen Jenkins of Sikeston, Missouri, Carolyn Holyfield of Bell City, Missouri, Jewel Tankersley of Campbell, Missouri and Linda McClain of Malden, Missouri; by eleven grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by two sons, David Robert Ross and Charles Franklin Ross; by five brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2:00 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie, Missouri. 

Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Bernie in charge of arrangements.

Billy Joe Ellis
Billy Joe Ellis, son of the late Wilbur and Pearl Dowdy Ellis, was born near Bernie, Missouri on June 25, 1935, and passed away at his home in Morehouse, Missouri on October 7, 2014, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 12 days.

Mr. Ellis was raised around LaValle and Parma, Missouri, and moved to Morehouse in 1963.  He was a mechanic and owned and operated Bill's Standard Station, Bill's Garage, and The Game Room.  He also had a fireworks stand for many years.  Mr. Ellis was a volunteer fireman in Morehouse, Missouri. He served in the US Army and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge .

On November 3, 1955, he was married to Shirley Ann Perrigan in Bloomfield, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2008.
Surviving are two sisters, Norma Hoskins of Morehouse and Margaret Baker of Dexter; one brother, Ed Ellis of Parma; companion and care giver, Nancy Kindle; one step daughter, Denise Dunn of Wichita, Kansas; one stepson, Michael Stalnacker; three step grandchildren, Jamie Kindle of Sikeston, Jessica Parrish of Wichita, Kansas and Colby Parrish of Harrisonville, Missouri. Many nieces, nephews, and many, many friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Daisy Breece and two brothers, Paul and Dale Ellis .

Friends may visit Friday, October 10, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse, Missouri with the Rev. Amos Johnson of Sikeston, Missouri officiating.

Interment with be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Morehouse in charge of arrangements.
