Raydine Harris

Raydine Harris

Raydine Harris, son of the late Elick Harris and Laura Haysten Harris, was born on January 3, 1945 in Hommond, Indiana, and passed away at his residence in Bloomfield on October 5, 2014 at the age of 69.

Mr. Harris had worked in maintenance at Tyson Foods, Inc. in Dexter and was a veteran of the United States Army.

On July 13, 2001, he was united in marriage to Peggy Christian in Bloomfield, Missouri.  Mrs. Harris survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Brian Keith Harris of Dexter; by two daughters, Amy Lynn Ledbetter of Bloomfield and Regina Baker of Ohio; by two brothers, Larry Harris of Bloomfield and James Harris of Dexter; by two sisters, Donna Baum and Patsey Hays, both of Dexter; and by seven grandchildren.

Besides his parents, one son, Raymond Elick Harris, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home of Dexter is handling arrangements.

John W. Brown
John W. Brown, the son of the late Osie and Mattie Woods Brown, was born in Broseley, Missouri on April 23, 1932, and passed away at his home in Broseley, Missouri on October 3, 2014, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 10 days.

Mr. Brown had lived in Dudley and Broseley, Missouri all his life. He had been a farmer and was a member of the Oliver Tractor Collectors Club.

On April 5, 1970, he was married to Patricia Woods and she preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Stacey Hardcastle of Broseley, Missouri; three grandchildren, Staci, Cody & Cory Hardcastle of Broseley; and two great grandchildren, Jazlyn & Evelynn Hardcastle of Broseley. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Brown & Johnny Brown; one brother, Verlin Brown and one sister, Sue Brown.

Friends may call on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.

Burial will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Linda Ruth Gosnell Harmon
Linda Ruth Gosnell Harmon, daughter of the late Murell Jefferson and Stella Dean Beavers Gosnell, was born in Sikeston, Missouri, on August 21, 1948, and passed away at the Clearview Nursing Home in Sikeston, Missouri on October 2, 2014, at the age of 66 years, 1 month and 12 days.

She had lived in Morehouse most of her life. She attended the First General Baptist Church in Morehouse, Missouri.

On December 3, 1976 she was married to Stanley Edwin Harmon in Morehouse, Missouri.

Surviving are her husband, Stanley Harmon of Morehouse; two sons, Carl Gene Harmon of Warrior, Alabama and Edwin Harmon of Morehouse; three daughters Charlotte Jones and Sharon Burns of Dexter and Carla Eaton of Gardendale, Alabama; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; twelve great great grandchildren; two sisters Connie Dock Smith and Judy Gosnell Greene both of Morehouse; and one brother, Robert Gosnell of Dexter. Other relatives and friends also survive.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Gosnell.

Friends may visit on Monday, October 6, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Morehouse, Missouri, with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Perry Hatchel

Perry Hatchel, son of the late James Hatchel and Dora Elizabeth Cox Hatchel, was born in Charter Oak, Missouri on October 20, 1935 and departed this life at his residence in Bernie, Missouri on October 1, 2014 at the age of 78.

Mr. Hatchel was a Truck Driver until his retirement and attended The Corner Gospel Church of Bernie, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Audrey Dale “Tootie” Beaird in Bernie, Missouri on October 10, 1959. 

Survivors include, his wife, Audrey “Tootie” Hatchel of Bernie, Missouri; by one brother, Frank “D” Hatchel of Bloomfield, Missouri; by five sisters, Eula Mae Carson of Bernie, Missouri, Emogene Hodge of Davidson, Michigan, Violetta Minton of Bernie, Missouri, Joyce Blaylock of Essex, Missouri and Betty Cooper of Dexter, Missouri; also by his Nieces and Nephews; and by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents by three brothers, His twin, Terry Hatchel, Eugene “Bud” Hatchel and Lewis Hatchel; by four sisters, Dorothy Richards, Velta Lacy, Geraldine Hatchel and Mable Hudgens.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Friday Morning October 3, 2014, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Don Wells officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

David Lee Hawkins

David Lee Hawkins, son of the late Iley Edmond Hawkins and Flossie Taylor Hawkins, was born on January 13, 1948 in Marston, Missouri and departed this life on September 30, 2014 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 66.

Mr. Hawkins was of the Baptist faith.  He worked in maintenance at the Central Gardens Residential Care  Facility in Dexter, was a resident of Dexter and a veteran of the United States Navy.

On October 9, 1971, he was united in marriage to Sue Peridore in Campbell, Missouri.  Mrs. Hawkins survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Lee Hawkins and his wife Jessica of Bloomfield and Sam Hawkins and his wife Ashley of Dexter; by one sister, Jeannie Harris of St. Louis; and by two grandchildren, Mallory Hawkins and Allyson Hawkins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Hawkins; by one brother, Charles Hawkins; and by one sister, Charlotte Spalding.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 8:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Rich Lee officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
