Dexter, Missouri – It’s always bittersweet when it comes to Senior Night for the Bearcats. A lifetime of watching an athlete on the court and enjoying all of their high school games, but yet at the same time knowing that it’s their last home game. For the parents and the students, it’s quite emotional. Even the fans get attached as if they were our own. We recognize their faces, know their numbers, positions on the team and can call them by name! Next year they won’t be there, but on to a new adventure! We want them to succeed and know they will!
Shyann Jines and Jessica Lindsey have been playing volleyball together as far back as they can remember. Coach Morgan said she started coaching them when they were sophomores!
Shyann is the daughter of Corey and Stacy Blocker and Brian and Amanda Jines. She has been a member of the DHS Volleyball Lady ‘Cats for 4 years and has also been a basketball cheerleader her sophomore and junior year and will again cheer for the basketball team this year.
Jines is a member of the Future Teachers Association, Honor Society, FCCLA, is on the Yearbook staff and is the president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Her awards include Defensive Player of the Year, 2nd Team All-District Volleyball 2012, 2nd Team All-District Volleyball 2013, and a member of the All-Stoddard County Volleyball Tournament Team 2013.
Her future plans are to attend Mineral Area College and play volleyball. She has chosen her college major to be in education.
Shyann, you will be missed on the volleyball court and the Dexter community wishes you much luck as you play for MAC.
