James R. Vaughn

James R. Vaughn, son of the late Willie B. Vaughn and Anna Mae Parker Vaughn, was born on November 28, 1946 in rural Parma, Missouri and departed this life on August 12, 2014 at SoutheastHEALTH Center of Stoddard County in Dexter at the age of 67 years.

Mr. Vaughn was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Bloomfield.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, had worked as a farmer and was a resident of Dexter.  His grandkids were his pride and joy and one of his greatest pastimes was watching them play sports.

On December 21, 1969, he was united in marriage to Vicki Vaughn in Essex, Missouri.  Mrs. Vaughn survives of the home.

He is also survived by one son, Brandon (Christy) Vaughn of Dexter; by one daughter, Jamie Vaughn of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; by one half brother, Jerry Vaughn of Memphis, Tennessee; by two sisters, Carolyn Beacham of Clarksburg, Tennessee and Kay Nance of New Madrid; and by two grandchildren, Brayden Vaughn and Mabree Vaughn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Berry.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with Brad Aycock and Rev. Ronnie Stevens officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
