Daniel James Raymond Hunsaker

Daniel James Raymond Hunsaker, son of Danny Hunsaker of West Plains, Missouri and Vickie Radford Smith of Dexter, Missouri, was born on July 17, 1987 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and departed this life on July 14, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 26 years, 362 days.

Daniel was affiliated with the Church of Christ, a resident of West Plains and had worked as a spiral winder/line worker at Caterpillar in West Plains.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by five sisters and one brother, Jennifer Pittman of Dexter, Clara Hunsaker of West Plains, Mary Hunsaker of West Plains, Emily Hunsaker of Bloomfield, Elizabeth Hunsaker of Warrensburg and Billy Hunsaker of Warrensburg. 

Daniel was preceded in death by one sister, Theresa Hunsaker;  and by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Doris Radford.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Chris Gonzalez officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Raymond Gale Eaton, President of FTI Printing, died early Tuesday morning at his home in Essex, Mo.

Gale was born May 22, 1954 in Dexter, Mo. to the late Maxine Eaton Lacey and Rueben Lacey. He graduated from Richland High School and married his wife, Melody (Hampton) Eaton in 1973.

Gale began his printing career working at the old Media Press in Dexter at the age of 19 as a pressman. He worked his way up in the company and held the position of General Manager before he left in 1985.

After leaving Media Press, Gale and his wife Melody started their own printing company in 1986, Forms Tech, Inc. Government printing was big in the printing industry at that time and was the main type of printing done there.

Over the past several years, the printing industry has changed dramatically. Gale and his son, Ben, have worked together in transforming the company to meet today's print needs. Now Forms Tech, Inc. is known locally as FTI Printing. Along with running a printing company, Gale also has a minster license from Christ Gospel Churches International.

Gale and Melody had a son, Benjamin Eaton, in September 1978. Over the last 41 years, they have lived in the Essex/Sikeston areas.

He is survived by his wife, Melody Eaton of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Chelsie Eaton; two grandchildren, Alesia Eaton and Carter Eaton; one sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Richard McAnulty of Richmond, Va.; and one aunt, Jackie Alberson of Essex.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Rueben Lacey.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jul. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Friday, July 18, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Michael Riordan will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery at Essex, Mo.

Jack Huckstep
John "Jack" Huckstep, the son of the late John W. and Reubie Mills Huckstep, was born in Cairo, Illinois on July 19, 1948, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on July 13, 2014, at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 24 days.

Mr. Huckstep had been raised in Charleston and had lived in Essex the past 12 years. He was a self-employed lawn mower mechanic and was a member of the Church on the Rock in Morehouse, Missouri.

He was married to Peggy Easler in Bertrand, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Huckstep of Essex; four sons, Zachary Clark-Huckstep of Cape Girardeau, Matthew Huckstep of East Prairie, John Huckstep of Evansville, Illinois, Chris Huckstep of Tennessee; two daughters, Elaine Hamilton and Jo Birt both of Springfield, Missouri; and one sister, Johnna Hall of Springfield, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Walker and one brother, Ronnie Huckstep.

There are no services scheduled at this time with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Charles Eugene Christian

Charles Eugene Christian, son of the late Warner Christian and Erma Harris Christian, was born on January 29, 1937 in Puxico, Missouri and departed this life on July 11, 2014 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 77 years.

Since 1962, Mr. Christian owned and operated Christian’s Store in Bloomfield and was a resident of Bloomfield. 

On October 27, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jean DeLay in Hernando, Mississippi.  Mrs. Christian survives at the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Chuck (Masami) Christian of Honolulu, Hawaii, Mark (Jessica) Christian of Puxico and James Christian of Poplar Bluff; by two daughters, Sharon Sullivan of Paducah, Kentucky and Julie (Michael) Christian-White of Godfrey, Illinois; by one brother, Allen (Thelma) Christian of Dexter; by two sisters, Virginia (T.C.) Milner of Bloomfield and Betty McDougal of Sikeston; and by nine grandchildren, Christian Sullivan , Norika Christian, Jackson Christian, Lydia Christian, Chase White, Morgan White, Aaron White, Seth White and Zach White.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John Charles Christian; by two brothers, Harold Christian and Carroll Christian; and by three sisters, Deane Kirby, Maxine Underwood and Geneva Lewis.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alice Fowler officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Robert Lee King, age 56, died Friday, July 11, 2014 at his home in Sikeston, Missouri.

Born May 16, 1958 in Sikeston, son of the late L.E. and Lillian (Harder) King.

Robert was a self employed farmer of King Farm & Sons. He attended New Life Ministries at New Madrid and was of the Baptist faith.

On June 20, 1988 he married Janie (Mulcahy) King, she survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Nathen King of Blodgett, Missouri and Sam King of Sikeston; two daughters, Amber Barnes of Essex, Missouri and Liza King of the home; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bill & Virginia King of East Prairie, Missouri, Pete King of Sikeston and Jack & Janet King of Madisonville, Tennessee; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Debbie & Eddie Rofkahr and Kay & John Seiler all of Sikeston; and six grandchildren, Jesse, Alex, Waylan, Joshua, Will and Lane.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Scott Sutton, pastor of New Life Ministries in New Madrid, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Robert's nephews, Jeff King, Greg King, Chad King, Jason King, Zach Petty, Charles Mulcahy II, Joey Seiler and Lee Roy King II.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Deal, Bob Deal, Big Terry Manes, Little Terry Manes, Terry Curry, David Hough, Vern Knuckles, Terry Landers and Uncle Johnny King.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Robert King Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 910, Sikeston, MO 63801.
