M*A*S*H Camps Slated for July and August

Southeast Missouri – Attention all southeast Missouri Middle School and High School students!!  Have you ever wondered what it would be like to perform surgery?  Perhaps work in the emergency room?  Do you want a career in healthcare?  Stop wondering and register now for the 2014 Missouri AHEC Science & Health (M*A*S*H) Camps!

Learn about science in the field of medicine, nursing, dentistry, and other health care occupations.  You may participate in hands-on learning activities that include: vital signs, CPR, first aid, suturing, injections, dissection labs, oral health, and more!  You will learn about healthcare and have fun at the same time!!!

M*A*S*H Camp is summer day camp held at various locations throughout the southeast area.  The following camps will be held this summer:

2014 Middle School M*A*S*H Camp – Friday, July 18th at the SEMO AHEC in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

2014 High School M*A*S*H Camps are July 30-31 at the Sikeston High School in Sikeston, Missouri and again on August 7 – 8 at the Three Rivers Nursing & Allied Health Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

All students must complete an application in advance and submit it by the appropriate deadline.  The cost of the camp is only $10 which needs to be in the form of check or money order made payable to SEMO AHEC and submitted with the application.  Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis and participants accepted will be notified by phone or email.

M*A*S*H Camp is a collaborative effort of community partners including: the Southeastern Missouri Area Health Education Center (SEMO AHEC), Sikeston High School, and Three Rivers College of Nursing & Allied Health.  The mission of al academic and community partners in this unique learning opportunity this to provide early exposure and academic enrichment to students who are interested in becoming health care professionals in the Southeast Missouri region.
