Dexter, Missouri – A Special School Board Meeting of the Dexter R-XI Schools was held on Thursday, June 5, 2014.

The Board employed Rebecca Hester as a certified teacher for the 2014-2015 school year.  Her assignment will be elementary keyboarding for grades 2, 3, 4, and 5.  This is an expanded teaching position created to address the computer-based mandatory testing beginning next school year.  (Last year Felicia Powers split her assignment between elementary keyboarding at Southwest Elementary and Curriculum Administration).  This position creates a new learning opportunity for the Central Elementary students. 

The Board also employed Jordan McGowan as a paraprofessional aide and as an assistant boys basketball coach for the 2014-2015 school year.  His assignment will be at the high school assisting student instruction.

Jordan joins head boys basketball coach Josh Dowdy and co-assistant coach Kyle Williamson as they provide coaching services for both middle school and high school interscholastic competition.
