Missouri - Area high school graduates may be missing valuable opportunities to receive financial aid for summer college classes by neglecting their A+ eligibility, according to officials at Three Rivers College.

“Most eligible students don’t realize that A+ works on summer classes, as well as the fall and spring semesters,” said Chris Adams, Director of Enrollment Services at Three Rivers College. “A+ allows you to get a head start on your education at an extremely low cost.”

To be eligible, students must first complete Missouri’s A+ Schools Program in their high school and submit a final high school transcript stamped with the school’s A+ seal. Qualifying students may receive up to six semesters of tuition and common fees at any participating Missouri community college, area vocational-technical school or state technical school, as long as they are enrolled in an approved program of study. Students may use A+ any time within four years of graduating high school.

A+ funding applies even if a student has used up or is ineligible for other financial aid such as Pell Grants, according to Adams. However, if a student is receiving a Federal Pell Grant, SEOG, or Access Missouri Grant, the Missouri A+ Incentive will pay only the allowable costs that exceed the above grants.
