Poplar Bluff, Missouri – A group of Bloomfield students traveled to Three Rivers College and performed with their Community Band.

John McMichael was one of only three high school students in the band, while Allison Statler, Gabe Waters, and Riley Burns were the only junior high students in the college band.  Audry Thompson is the band director at Bloomfield.

These students practice many hours and challenge themselves to excel in music.  High school bands typically have more difficult music than middle school bands.  College bands are even more challenging and require greater skill.

Well done Bloomfield students!!

Shown in the photo are Allison Statler, John McMichael, Gabe Waters, Riley Burns, and Ms. Audry Thompson.

Dexter, Missouri -
Everyone knows how much fun it is to do the MAP testing at school each year.  Central Elementary spiced things up a bit by offering a bike to a lucky student who had perfect attendance.  A drawing was held and three students received awesome bicycles.

Pictured left to right are:
4th grade winner Ethan Watson
5th grade winner Audrey Martin
3rd grade winner Wyatt Wallingford

They also had a daily drawing for a $25 Wal-Mart gift card. Ten gift cards were given out and you had to be present to win.

Who says MAP testing can't be exciting!  Congratulations!

As an added incentive. the teachers volunteered to take a "PIE" in the face.  The class from grade level that raised the most money got to throw a pie at their teacher!  Wow!  What fun that was!!

Each student from the winning class had their own cool whip pie to toss at the teacher's face.  The student worked very hard and were very generous.

Over all Southwest Elementary raised $3,547.20.

Teachers volunteering for the "Pie in the Face" were:
