* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS... WESTERN KENTUCKY AND SOUTHEAST MISSOURI... INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS... IN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS... ALEXANDER... FRANKLIN... JACKSON... JEFFERSON... JOHNSON... MASSAC... PERRY IL... PULASKI... UNION IL AND WILLIAMSON. IN WESTERN KENTUCKY... BALLARD... CALLOWAY... CARLISLE... FULTON... GRAVES... HICKMAN... MARSHALL AND MCCRACKEN. IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI... BOLLINGER... BUTLER... CAPE GIRARDEAU... CARTER... MISSISSIPPI... NEW MADRID... PERRY MO... RIPLEY... SCOTT... STODDARD AND WAYNE MO.

* INCOMING HEAVY RAINS LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR. WITH THE DEVELOPING LOW LEVEL JET TONIGHT... SOME OF THESE STORMS COULD END UP REPEATING OVER THE SAME AREAS... MAKING POSSIBLE FOR HIGHER LOCALIZED TOTALS TO 3 INCHES OR MORE. THE LATEST FORECAST GUIDANCE SUGGESTS 3 INCH OR HIGHER TOTALS MAY CAUSE FLOODING.
