Dexter, Missouri – Back-to-back wins for the Dexter High School varsity basketball team!  The Bearcats hosted the Bell City Cubs at the Bearcat Event Center on Tuesday evening.  They got off to a slow start, but once they completed the first quarter it was all BEARCATS!

“We played pretty good after the three-and-a-half minute mark of the first quarter,” Dexter coach Rob Nichols said. “We didn’t attack the zone well early and couldn’t get the lid off the basket. But after that I thought we did a good job of attacking the basket, the 3-point shot opened up and we shot it pretty good.”

The first quarter ended with the Bearcats on top 9-5.  At the half it was 28 – 11, but the third quarter proved to be the best quarter for the Bearcats scoring 30 points!  They continued their double figure scoring into the fourth quarter finishing with another 16 points and holding Bell City to just 4 in the 4th.

Dexter had three players in double figures against the Bell City Cubs. Ethan Flowers had a game-high 20 points for the Bearcats.  He also sank four 3-pointers.  Austin Chesser tallied 18 points including three treys.  Peyton Pollock added 16 points to the board.  D.J. hit one trey.

Aaron Smith scored a team-high 14 points for the Cubs.  He also had one trey.
