THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 AM CST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* TIMING... MIXED WINTRY PRECIPITATION WILL SPREAD ACROSS SOUTHEAST MISSOURI LATE THIS MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THIS EVENING.
* ACCUMULATIONS... MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW IS POSSIBLE FROM THE OZARK FOOTHILLS REGION... NORTHEAST TOWARD PERRYVILLE AND JACKSON. AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED. THE SNOW WILL BE MIXED SLEET ALONG AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM POPLAR BLUFF TO CAPE GIRARDEAU... WHERE 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET ARE FORECAST. ACROSS EXTREME SOUTHEAST MISSOURI... INCLUDING NEW MADRID AND CHARLESTON... A MIX OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL OCCUR. IN THIS AREA... UP TO ONE QUARTER INCH OF ICE IS POSSIBLE ALONG WITH SOME SLEET ACCUMULATION.
