
Irma Janett Coots, daughter of Viola Ditto Brewer of Sikeston and the late James Osby Brewer was born on September 17, 1941 in Matthews, Missouri. Irma went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on January 6, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 72. Mrs. Coots was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, a care giver at home and a resident of Advance.
On February 15, 1957 she was united in marriage to Lan Coots at Bement Baptist Church.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Micheal Coots of Troy, Ohio and Mark Coots of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by three daughters, Tambra Gaskins of New Plymouth, Idaho, Julie Dean of Claremore, Oklahoma and Jennifer Courtney of Kearney, Missouri; by one brother, John Brewer of Chattanooga, Tennessee; by fifteen grandchildren, Benjamen Coots, Andrew Coots, Matthew Coots, Caleb Coots, Alyssa Coots, Talley Gaskins, Sylas Gaskins, Seth Gaskins, Jonathan Dean, Maelyn Dean, Mary Margaret Dean, Micah Dean, Rebecca Courtney, Emily Courtney and David Courtney and by one great-grandchild, Benjamin Gaskins.
One brother, Eddie Brewer, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held at the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Irma’s home going celebration will be conducted on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield with Rev. Ronnie Stevens officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorials be made to the First General Baptist Mission Fund, 501 Christian Drive, Bloomfield, Missouri 63825.
