Defensive Driving Scholarship

Defensive Driving Scholarship - This scholarship is open to high school seniors or college students.  To apply for this scholarship you must submit a video and a complete survey by Sunday, December 15th, in ordered to be considered!

Eligibility Requirements:

-Scholarship payable to the winner who should be living in the United States

-Student must enroll in semester beginning no later than Fall 2014

-Winner is not based on financial need

-Relatives of Defensive Driving staff may not enter

-Home-schooled students may apply so long as your course of study is equivalent to that of a senior in high school

Video Requirements:

-Make a video responding to one of the following prompts: (video can be filmed on a smartphone, digital camera/camcorder, webcam, etc, and submitted here

-Share an experience in which practicing a safe driving habit saved your life or the life of someone you know

-Share a story that would help raise awareness about the dangers of texting and driving

-Share an experience that would help raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving

-Video should be from 1-2 minutes in length

-Video should be taken in the “landscape” (long) format rather than “portrait” (tall) format if taken on a smart phone

Survey Requirements:

Fill out the survey in its entirety. Failure to do so will result in the disqualification of the applicant.

Award Given:

One (1) winning applicant will receive a $1,500 scholarship. Award money is to be applied to cover winners educational expenses in the field or major of their choosing. The receipt of this award by the winner is subject to the following conditions: All monetary awards must be applied to cover winners college, university or vocational school tuition and education-related expenses, such as room and board or books and supplies. Under no circumstances should monies awarded to winners be used toward non-educational expenses.

Each month, faculty from each academic department will select a student for STUDENT OF THE MONTH.

Cold outside, come in and get warm with a hot bowl of chili and a fresh cinnamon roll.  The T.S. Hill Middle School Beta Club would like to invite YOU to an Old School Chili and Cinnamon Roll Supper!

The event will be held on Monday, November 25th just before the Boys Basketball Team takes the court against the Poplar Bluff Mules.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are only $5.00 each, student in 2nd grade and younger eat for FREE!  

Your ticket will also include entry to the Boys Basketball Game at 6:00 p.m.

All proceeds go to Dexter Jr. Beta Club.  Thank you for your support.
