Wappapello, Missouri - Lake Wappapello Theatre winds up the season with Drive Tyme and Tori Travers

On Friday, October 18, "Drive Tyme" will perform. This southeast Missouri based band was formed in 2006. Members include Jerrel Cloud on rhythm guitar and his sister Lisa Cloud-Whitehead on upright bass, both from Malden and many will remember them from JustUs Bluegrass. Also playing is Don Goff on banjo and dobro.  Don is from Poplar Bluff and well known from the band String Circle, and newest member Richard Cluck also from Malden adds his own touch of flair and style on the mandolin.

They offer a high energy blend of traditional and original music. Prepare yourselves for an entertaining show from this group of well-matched musicians.

On Saturday, October 19 Tori Travers will perform for the first time at the theatre. Fourteen year-old, Tori Travers is originally from Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Her first performance was in church at age two. She got her first guitar for her thirteenth birthday and hasn't put it down since. Within a few months, her original songs numbered in the double digits. Much of her inspiration comes from Taylor Swift, whom she has gotten to meet on three different occasions.

She stays very busy performing at local events and wineries. She travels to Nashville regularly; and has had the honor of playing at the well known Commodore Grille and the world famous Bluebird Cafe. In November 2012, she won 1st place in the Missouri State Jr Beta Talent Competition. Qualifying her for the National Competition in Mobile, Alabama.

Her debut EP was released in December 2012, featuring 6 original songs. In addition to her music, Tori stays active in her public school. She is an Honor student, active in many clubs, a leader on both her High School Sideline and Competitive Cheer squads and runs track. Her plans are to pursue her music career in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Lake Wappapello Outdoor Theatre is adjacent to Crabb & Co. Restaurant and located on T highway, 2 miles south of the dam in Wappapello.

Admission is FREE for all performances at the community theatre, however donations to the bands are appreciated. In case of rain the show will be held in the Music Barn adjacent to the Outdoor Theatre. Bring your lawn chair and come out for a night of great entertainment. For the comfort of all guests we ask to keep the event smoke and pet free. No coolers allowed.

For additional information about the theatre or the performance schedule, contact Jason Crabb at 573-222-7401.
