Dexter, Missouri – The Dexter Altrusa Club is hosting their first Charity Auction on Saturday, October 26th, which happens to be “Make a Difference Day”.
Proceeds will benefit the following charities: UCAN (United Cancer Assistance Network), PAT (Parents As Teachers) and Laundry Baskets Full of Love.
There is NO admission fee for the event, but you will need a ticket. We ask that you bring an item from the list below or a cash donation. You may pick up a ticket at the following locations: Designs On You Salon (N. Walnut St.), D & S Drug (W. Business 60), the Daily Statesman (S. Walnut St.) or the Chamber of Commerce (W. Market St.).
Here is the list of items requested and the list is also located on the back of the ticket: Children’s Books (new or gently used), laundry detergent, fabric softener, toothpaste, toothbrush (individually packaged), chapstick or lip balm, dental floss, toilet paper, paper towels, soap (liquid or bar), shampoo, conditioner, dishwashing liquid, deodorant, disposable razors, and body lotion.
There will also be a Live Auction and those proceeds will go directly to U.C.A.N., a Sealed Bid Silent Auction that will fund P.A.T., Last Card Standing with proceeds going to Laundry Baskets Full of Love, and a Half-and-Half Cash Prize.
The event is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with the doors opening at 6:00 p.m. for the Silent Auction and will be held at the American Legion Kenady-Hanks building located at 620 W. Oak St. across from West City Park.
