Clyde E. Laird Jr., son of the late Clyde E. Laird Sr. and Martha Rice Laird was born on June 12, 1954 at Dexter and departed this life on August 6, 2013 in his residence at Idalia at the age of 59.
Mr. Laird was of the Baptist faith, a former tow motor driver for Purolator Filter Company in Dexter, enjoyed fishing and was a resident of Idalia.
He was united in marriage to Veda Wamble on April 3, 1976 at Essex, Mrs. Laird survives of the home at Idalia.Besides his wife, survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cathy Laird of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina: by one daughter, Misty Laird of the home in Idalia: by two brothers, Sam Laird of Wappapello and Lyndell Laird of Advance, Missouri: by one sister, Loretta Whittley of Bloomfield.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo Laird, Leon Laird and Larry Laird: by one sister, Nola Hoggard.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 9, 2013.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Cheney officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
