Commonly referred to as the Fourth of July, Independence Day is a Federal Holiday and commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
In the United States, we commonly associate our celebrations with fireworks, parades, BBQs, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and ceremonies.
The first 4th of July celebration was held in Eastport, Maine in 1820 and is still one of the largest in the country.
Have a safe and happy holiday!
